Prince William has spoken of how deeply he misses his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, saying he still feels her presence at Windsor Castle.

“For me, Windsor is her,” he said.

His remarks came during a wide-ranging conversation with actor Eugene Levy, recorded as part of the new travel documentary The Reluctant Traveller With Eugene Levy, which will air later this week.

The program, fronted by the American Pie and Schitt’s Creek star, sees Levy travel to the UK and take a private tour of Windsor Castle with the Prince of Wales.

The episode will stream on Apple TV+ in the UK from October 3.

As the pair walked the historic grounds, William spoke openly about his family and the future.

In a newly released clip, Levy asked the Prince, “Do you miss your grandmother?”

“I do actually, yeah, I do miss my grandmother, and my grandfather,” he responded.

“It’s been quite a bit of change, so you do sort of, you think about them not being here anymore, and particularly being in Windsor, for me Windsor is her. She loved it here, she spent most of her time here.

“Showing you around today is very much a case of trying to make sure I’m doing it in the way she’d want you to see it.

“She had her horses here as well, as you can imagine that was a big deal for her so that’s why she loved it here.”

One of the key reasons William and his wife, Catherine, relocated their family to Windsor from London in 2022 was to be closer to Queen Elizabeth during the final years of her life.

She died just weeks later, on September 8, at Balmoral Castle.

The family have since settled on the Berkshire estate, describing it as their “forever home.” In the coming months, they will move from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge, a Georgian mansion in which they plan to remain even after William becomes King.

The move marks a new chapter following a difficult period for the Royal Family, shaped by the Queen’s death, the cancer diagnoses of both Catherine and King Charles, and the fallout from Prince Harry’s memoir Spare.

Levy described his Windsor experience as “one of the most thrilling days of my life.”

“Prince William was an exceptionally gracious host and I was so impressed with how at ease he made me feel. A smart young man with a great sense of humour,” he said.
