Homer Gere has officially arrived in Hollywood, and his first major TV role is already turning heads.

The 26-year-old son of Richard Gere made his breakout appearance in the latest episode of Euphoria, starring in a provocative storyline that instantly sparked online chatter.

Homer appeared in episode seven as Dylan Reed, a fast-rising Hollywood actor who becomes caught up in Cassie Howard’s relentless pursuit of fame. Played by Sydney Sweeney, Cassie is encouraged by friend Maddy Perez – portrayed by Alexa Demie – to pursue a fling with Dylan in the hope his massive social media following could boost her own profile.

What begins as a drunken hookup soon reveals itself to be part of Cassie’s calculated plan for attention and notoriety.

After seducing Dylan, Cassie takes advantage of the actor’s distraction to upload a photo of the pair in bed together directly to his Instagram account. The stunt quickly goes viral within the show’s chaotic celebrity world, delivering the publicity boost she had been chasing.

The eyebrow-raising role marks Homer’s very first major television appearance and signals the arrival of another high-profile Hollywood “nepo baby”.

Born Homer James Jigme Gere in Westchester, New York, the aspiring actor is the son of Richard Gere and actress Carey Lowell, best known for her role in Law & Order.

The former couple married in 2002 before separating in 2013. Their divorce was finalised three years later following a highly publicised custody battle, with Homer eventually living primarily with his mother.

Despite the family upheaval, Richard Gere has long spoken affectionately about his eldest son.

Speaking to The Guardian when Homer was just two years old, the Pretty Woman star described him as “the love of my life”.

“Loves music, very fast runner, very smart, very funny,” Gere said at the time.

The pair are still believed to share a close bond, speaking regularly despite Richard now living in Spain with his second wife, Alejandra Silva. Homer is also the older brother of Richard and Silva’s two sons, Alexander and James.

As Homer begins carving out his own acting career, Richard admitted last year he had been surprised by just how quickly his son embraced the industry.

“It just so happens that he’s only recently started acting himself,” Gere said in 2024.

“He’s suddenly become interested and seems to be enjoying it. He’s been writing and directing small films, so we have this new thing in common.”

While Euphoria may be Homer’s biggest role yet, it is far from his only project.

The young actor is also set to appear in upcoming erotic thriller The Shards later this year. Set in Los Angeles during 1981, the film follows a privileged group of teenagers navigating fame, excess and danger during a turbulent coming-of-age journey.

Before landing larger projects, Homer quietly built experience through a string of short films between 2022 and 2025, while also appearing in musician Khatumu’s 2024 music video for Hunting Days.

Despite growing industry attention, Homer appears determined to keep parts of his life private. Unlike many rising young stars, he currently has no known public Instagram, TikTok or X accounts – a rarity for someone stepping into Hollywood’s spotlight.
