Mark Beretta has launched his own podcast, Berrets’ Best, following his exit from Sunrise.

The former sports presenter left the Channel 7 show in December after 22-year-long TV career, covering 13 Olympic Games, and every major sport in the country.

Beretta launched the podcast on Monday, with David ‘Kochie’ Koch and Karl Stefanovic appearing as guests for the first episode to chat about morning television.

The former sports presenter hopes the podcast will offer something new, by featuring Stefanovic and Koch who are former TV hosts from rival stations, and a new platform that allows him to dive deeper into stories he’s passionate about.

“Those three minutes or so that you get on TV don’t give you a chance to tell a really great story,” Beretta said.

“Now we really burrow down, and it’s pretty awesome to hear some of these incredible stories and the bits that we haven’t heard before.”

“I’ve called it Beretts’ Best because I reckon it’s some of the best chats I’ve ever had with people,” he said.

“These people are the best in their field, whether it is sport, medicine, science, or whatever it is.

“It’s pretty awesome to sit down and tell their stories, and let them tell it in their own words.”

Upcoming guests on the show include  Olympic swimmer Michael Klim, cricketer Nathan Lyon, rugby league identity Matty Johns, cyclist Grace Brown, and neurosurgeon Dr Charlie Teo.

Berett’s Best is available to listen to on Spotify, Apple, and YouTube.
