Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are heading to Australia for a series of live shows in January 2027.
The actors, who played Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the acclaimed crime drama, will bring their live event An Evening With Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul to Australia before travelling to New Zealand.
Speaking to Sunrise from Dallas, the pair reflected on the show’s lasting popularity, their careers and the friendship they formed while filming the series.
“We understand that it’s very, very popular down there. And we’re excited to be able to share all the stories behind the scenes, what we were thinking, what we were doing when the scenes were going on. And also what led us to, you know, Breaking Bad,” Cranston said.
The five-season series premiered in 2008 and concluded in 2013 after 62 episodes.
It followed chemistry teacher Walter White, who turns to making and selling drugs after being diagnosed with terminal cancer in an effort to secure his family’s financial future.
The series won 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards and has remained one of television’s most acclaimed dramas.
During the Australian shows, Cranston and Paul will discuss the making of the series, its writing and production, their experiences on set and the moments they remember most.
They will also talk about their lives outside acting, offer advice to aspiring performers and discuss their shared business venture, Dos Hombres mezcal.
The Australian tour will also be a long-awaited visit for Cranston, who previously planned to travel to the country for a film that was ultimately cancelled.
“Years ago, I was supposed to go do a movie there. And we were so excited. And we were going to bring our daughter with us; my wife and I and our daughter. She was young. She was probably seven or so. And the movie fell through, as they do occasionally,” he explained.
He recalled having to tell his daughter the trip was no longer happening.
“We had to tell her, we’re not going to Australia. And she started to cry.”
The pair said they remain grateful for the series and the opportunities it has given them.
“People ask us sometimes, you get reminded about Breaking Bad all the time; is it a pain? And it’s like, no. It changed our lives. It’s such a blessing… we have nothing but fond memories and gratefulness for it,” Cranston said.
Paul also spoke warmly about his friendship with Cranston.
“I love this man so much. He’s truly my best friend. I’m actually getting emotional. I say this all the time, but he’s the hardest worker in the room. I’ve learned so much from him on screen and off. I always say he’s also the most immature person I’ve ever known. We work hard, but we have the best time doing it,” he said.
The pair have continued working together since Breaking Bad, launching their business.
“We called ourselves Dos Hombres, two guys. It just means two working-class guys, which we are. We tried maybe a hundred different mezcals, and we found the perfect one, and we brought it to market seven years ago,” Cranston said.
The Breaking Bad reunion comes after the series was recently named the number one television show of the 21st century by The New York Times, following a vote involving more than 500 actors, showrunners and other figures from the television industry.
The tour will begin on January 15, 2027, with further Australian shows on January 18, 22 and 25, before concluding in Auckland on January 28, with tickets to go on sale September 30, 2026.
