Jackson Warne, son of Australian sporting legend Shane Warne, is honouring his late father with the launch of his new podcast, Warne’s Way.

The 26-year-old is hosting the podcast, talking to some well-known guests and sharing stories about Shane Warne.

“Everybody who I’ve met the last three or four years, everybody has a Shane Warne story,” Jackson told Today.

“Whether it be they’ve met him in the smokers at Crown late at night, or they’ve met him at the petrol station or wherever it was – everybody has a Shane Warne story.”

Jackson said the idea for the podcast first came to him in 2018 when he and his dad talked about working together on a project where they would speak with some of Shane’s celebrity friends about their experiences together.

“Dad was such a good storyteller that personally, I would love to listen to him tell his tales,” Jackson said.

Even though his father passed away, Jackson feels close to him through the stories shared by his podcast guests.

“It’s almost in a way like I’m talking to dad, because the things they’re saying would be what dad would be saying as well,” he said.

“It’s making me remember exactly who dad was and it’s just really comforting.”

Shane Warne died in March 2022 during a health trip to Koh Samui, Thailand.

In a conversation with Today hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo, Jackson shared what he misses most about his dad.

“I actually miss everything to be honest,” he said.

“Even the smallest things with dad were so much fun, whether it be playing poker or the late-night Maccas drive-thru runs, whatever it was, it was always exciting.

“He sort of lived life on a little bit different rules, so I miss all those little things. Dad watching the Saint Kilda Football Club, I reckon he would have loved Top Gun: Maverick, he loved the first one, so I would have loved to have watched the second one with him or the F1 movie.”
