Russell Crowe has shared a few rare snaps with his youngest son, Tennyson, to celebrate his 20th birthday.
The actor took to social media to mark the special occasion, sharing a glimpse at his life as a dad and how grown-up his son is.
“20 years ago today, at 7 minutes to 7am, this amazing young man arrived in our lives. Happy Birthday Tenny,” he captioned the photos, which included a selfie of the father-son duo flexing their muscles in the gym.
He also shared a photo of a younger Tennyson when he was still a toddler, and one of the duo on a horse ride.
Fans were quick to comment on how Tennyson looks just like the actor back in his heyday, and how the “Apple didn’t fall far from that tree!”
“He looks a lot like you,” one fan wrote on X.
“No DNA test required,” another added.
“He’s certainly is good-looking He must have gotten it from his father,” a third wrote.
“Look at you two legends flexing together 20 years later …” one person noted.
Russell shares two sons with ex-wife Danielle Spencer, Tennyson and Charlie.
The actor has protected his sons’ privacy following his split from his ex-wife in 2012.
In a previous interview with Larry King in 2015, he revealed that he had a strict no-photo rule with fans when he was out with his kids.
“I try to simply say, ‘Hey, I’m with my kids. Have a great day.’ I don’t want to steal time from my children,” he said at the time.
Since then, the actor has opened up about how he values spending time with his children and his parenting concerns.
“I look back, and I think I should have given more time [to my children]. It’s tricky. I have this big job, and my entire work life takes place overseas … It worries me greatly that I didn’t spend enough time with them.,” he shared with The Kyle and Jackie O Show in 2020.
“I can’t cover the holes I made then, but I can certainly work on having less distance in the future.
“They’re in a good place now, but going forward, I really feel like I’ve got to start working in Australia.”
