Danika Mason has announced that she is pregnant with her first child.
The Today sport presenter shared the exciting update on-air, saying that she and her partner, Liam Knight, were thrilled when they found out.
They are expecting to welcome a baby girl at the end of the year.
“We feel so honoured to be brought into your households every single morning, so when there’s news here, it’s nice to share it with you guys first before the rest of the world gets to hear about it,” Danika said.
“So Liam and I are expecting a little girl, due December – so off-season will be a little bit busier this year.”
The 35-year-old shared she had a bit of morning sickness initially, but that stage of her pregnancy has passed.
Danika joins friend and fellow Today host, Sarah Abo, who is also expecting to welcome her first child with husband, Cyrus in August.
“Everyone here at Nine has been so supportive, when I’ve been vomiting on the way to work and everything, you know, everyone’s been so good,” she said.
“It’s so funny, the moment that I knew I was pregnant, I had a chicken schnitzel craving – I just honestly, all I could think about was chicken schnitzel.”
Danika and Liam, who is a professional rugby league and former NRL player, went public with their relationship in July 2024, after initially going through a long-distance relationship.
They got engaged during a romantic trip in Italy, a few months after going public with their relationship.
“Liam’s over the moon, he’s so excited and he’s ready to be a girl dad,” she shared.
The presenter even shared an update on social media, with a photo of her ultrasound, three pregnancy tests and her pup, Charlie, who has been “promoted to big brother”.
“Congratulations beautiful!!! What a lucky little bubba!!!” Nine reporter Kate Creedon commented.
“I vote Knighty change the first nappy – love you guys,” friend and Rabbitohs star Jai Arrow said.
“Congratulations! You’ll be an amazing mama – I’m going to have to celebrate with two margaritas, one for you and one for me,” TV presenter Leila McKinnon added.
