Donna Mills is stepping onto OnlyFans at 85, embracing a platform she says offers a new way to connect with the audience that has followed her since her years on Knots Landing.
Speaking to Page Six in a statement released today, the actress made clear she has no concern about the prospect of being the site’s oldest creator. “Honey, I’ve been in this business over 50 years … I’ve seen every trend come and go. When something new comes along that lets me talk directly to the people who’ve stuck with me since Knots Landing, why wouldn’t I jump in? My fans are going to see the real me: the good hair days, the bad hair days, and everything in between.”
She also addressed the timing of the decision, dismissing any idea that the moment is too late. “People keep asking me why now. Why not now? Life’s too short to sit on the sidelines. My fans have given me everything, and this is my way of letting them in a little closer.”
The move was also discussed by Andy Bachman, CEO of Creators Inc, who described Mills as decisive from the start. “Donna called me and said two words: ‘I’m in.’ That’s who she is — no hesitation,” CEO of Creators Inc, Andy Bachman, added. “She’s spent five decades captivating audiences, and now she gets to do it without a script, a network, or anyone else’s rules. Page one of the Donna Mills playbook has always been: do it your way.”
Mills separately confirmed the news to Variety today, where she explained that the appeal lies in creating a closer relationship with supporters. “I’ve always appreciated the incredible support and encouragement I’ve received from my fans over the years,” she told the outlet. “Social media has been a wonderful way to stay connected, but I’m excited to join OnlyFans because it offers the opportunity for a more personal and direct connection.”
Her new page will feature “sharing moments from [her] daily life, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and engaging with fans in a more meaningful way” on her new OnlyFans account.
Mills became a household name through her portrayal of Abby Cunningham on the primetime soap opera Knots Landing, where she starred from 1980 to 1989. During the show’s run, she became especially known for a striking glamorous image that remains part of her look today.
That confidence was on display back in April, when she fired back at an online critic who posted, “You wear too much makeup for your age.” In her response video, Mills appeared in a leather jacket, lacy tank top and jeans, finished with glossy pink lipstick and a soft smoky eye, and replied with a laugh, “Oh, this comment. I guess I didn’t get the memo.”
She then leaned into the joke by asking, “Did you want me to look like this?” before the video cut to her styled as a stereotypical old woman, wearing a gray bun, ruffled blouse, wire-rimmed glasses and pearls.
She closed with a pointed sign-off that summed up her attitude. “Sorry, not sorry. I like the way I look. This is my style. And style doesn’t have an expiration date, does it?”
