Andrew Bolt leads the charge on Scott Morrison tirade

Andrew Bolt has unleashed a scathing tirade against former Prime Minister Scott Morrison for secretly appointing himself to five ministries during his time as PM.

The Sky News host said Morrison has "embarrassed" the Liberal party and should "just go" from the government all together.

The fired-up conservative commentator also blasted new Liberal leader Peter Dutton for defending Mr Morrison, saying it amounted to a "double disaster".

In an almost 10 minute long monologue, Bolt slammed Morrison and his apology.

"Former prime minister Scott Morrison has embarrassed, even devastated his party and today the scandal got even more bizarre," Bolt said.

"He's finished, quit parliament now, just go."

Bolt said Mr Dutton made "exactly the wrong call" when he defended Morrison and should have "cut him loose".

He was furious Mr Morrison had gone on 2GB radio on Tuesday to "defend his crazy decision" to make himself the second Minister for Health, Resources and Finance and was asked "was that all, just those three?"

Mr Morrison denied there were any more roles, but shortly after it emerged that he had also appointed himself as the second Treasurer and Home Affairs Minister.

"What a shocking memory. Morrison had somehow forgotten being secretly sworn in by the Governor-General as minister of not just one more ministry, but two," Bolt said.

"It seems that Morrison got a real taste of power when he became the other Health Minister, and over the next 14 months got hungrier and hungrier."

Despite Bolt's take on Scott Morrison's wrongdoings, the former PM was defended by former Liberal prime minister, John Howard, who led the country from 1996 to 2007, who said he should not resign from parliament over the scandal.

"I don't think it's something that is so reeking with principle as to require an unwanted, expensive, unnecessary by-election," Mr Howard said on ABC's 7.30.

"There are reasons why he did it. And part of the conservative tradition is to always understand the context."

When quizzed for said context, Mr Morrison issued a lengthy explanation on why he secretly appointed himself to these ministries during his time as PM, saying he made the unprecedented decision partly because he feared that ministers at any moment could be struck down with Covid.

Image credits: Getty Images / Sky News

Mother left shaken after shocking cyclist attack

A single mother has been left shaken after being confronted by an out of control cyclist in Sydney.

Monique was driving on Pittwater Road in Sydney’s northern beaches where she gave a cyclist plenty of room on the road and indicated when she was turning.

“I looked back ... just to check that he (the cyclist) hadn’t caught up, I was pretty sure she hadn’t but I wanted to double-check and then I consciously indicated because again I wanted it to be very clear to the cyclist that I was going to be turning,” Monique told 7News.

As she continued driving, she heard a loud yell, prompting her to stop her car.

“I just had this feeling that not everything was OK,” she said.

Monique saw the infuriated cyclist approach her car, which is when she decided to pull her phone out and record the ordeal.

The video shows the man repeatedly open her car door and try to hit her, while unleashing a tirade of profanity and abuse.

“Are you f***ing blind,” he can be heard saying.

In response, Monique can be heard asking the cyclist to stop hitting her.

“I’m calling the police, you can’t hit me,” she says.

“I was indicating, and I turned ... it was perfectly safe.”

After the ordeal, Monique said she was left “shaking”.

“I couldn’t drive. It wouldn’t have been safe to drive.”

The video has since been turned over to police as they try to identify the man to press charges.

Lawyer Sam Macedone told 7News the video showed there was “intimidation without any doubt” but said it will be hard for police to actually do anything about it.

“There’s really nothing you can do because there’s no registration plate, there’s no identification, there’s nothing,” he said.

Monique believes the incident should be a catalyst for debate on cyclists needing to be registered to ride on the road.

A spokesperson from the Australian Cycle Alliance condemned the man's actions, but said registration is not the answer.

They said bike registration is an "expensive exercise" which remains deeply unpopular within the cycling community.

“It would cost just as much to register a bike as it does to register a car in order to make it financially viable,” the spokesperson said.

“Do we start at four-year-olds on their balance bikes ... how do you manage when you have multiple bikes?

“The cost of the system would far outweigh the benefit of the system.”

Monique on the other hand said she believes cyclists should be registered if both cars and bikes are going to be sharing the roads.

“We need to share accountability for our actions,” she said.

Kyle Sandilands defends his "embarrassing" on-air tirade

Kyle Sandilands has returned to his morning radio show after an on-air meltdown on Wednesday, apologising to his co-host while defending his stance.

“Hello Kyle,” co-host Jackie O greeted him carefully at the start of Thursday’s show. “Good to have you back. How are you feeling today?”

“Feeling pretty good, yeah … sort of,” a sheepish Sandilands responded.

“Are you OK over there? You look like you’re going to cry,” Jackie told him.

“Oh, it’s a bit embarrassing, yesterday’s carry-on,” he admitted.

“I felt very justified, but I did get my back up a bit – but that happens among friends.”

Kyle revealed that following his unhinged on-air tirade, in which he berated newsreader Brooklyn Ross for running the Gladys Berejiklian/Scott Morrison leaked texts story, that he had been contacted by reporters for a comment on his outburst.

He admitted that the media coverage of his tantrum made him "look stupid", but went on to defend his stance on what news the radio show runs.

“I did notice a few people comment, ‘what right does Kyle have to decide what the news is?’,” he said.

“Well, every right, because I run the show. I’m not an employee... I don’t work for anyone.”

The radio shock jock admitted that he felt "out of my mind" with anger when he left the KIIS building after walking off the live radio broadcast.

“I was so angry when I was leaving here, I did a huge burnout out the driveway, it was wet so the whole car was going sideways... and I didn’t care if I died,” Sandilands joked.

“I was out of my mind.”

Kyle also apologised to Jackie O for calling her an "idiot" during his rant, while admitting he didn't realise how long it had gone for.

“I was reading an article yesterday, and it said I went on a 12-minute meltdown. Was it 12 minutes? Of me continually screaming and carrying on?” Sandilands asked his co-hosts.

The on-air meltdown was prompted after Kyle deemed the politicians' text leaking scandal not newsworthy for their show, claiming it was "over nothing".

“This is the biggest news in Australia, and it’s all over nothing. So what if the ex-Premier called the prime minister a horrible, horrible person? I’ve called everyone here an effing C in text messages. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gladys was just pacifying whatever loser Minister she was talking to,” Sandilands began.

“This is not real news. Don’t make up fictitious bulls**t drama over nothing.”

US banker fired and charged after a racist tirade over a smoothie

A wealthy US banker has been fired from his job and charged with a hate crime after a video of him berating young staff in a smoothie shop has gone viral.

James Iannazzo, 48, threw a smoothie at a teenage employee before calling her a "f**king immigrant", all while other staff filmed his racist rant.

The bizarre encounter erupted after a visibly irate Mr Iannazzo returned to the store in Connecticut after an hour earlier ordering a smoothie that contained peanuts, which caused his highly allergic son to have a reaction and require hospitalisation, according to authorities.

According to a police report, Mr Iannazzo ordered the drink without peanut butter, but did not mention his son's allergy to the workers.

The video captured by an employee shows Mr Iannazzo demanding to know who made the original drink, before lashing out and calling the staffers “f**king stupid, f**king ignorant high school kids”.

He then allegedly called one of the workers a "f**king b***h" before hurling the drink at her, striking her shoulder.

Mr Iannazzo continued his expletive-ridden tirade before calling the employee he hit with the drink a "f**king immigrant".

The video was originally posted to TikTok and Twitter where it has amassed over 16 million views, and thousands of comments blasting the man's behaviour.

A spokesman for the man's employer Merrill Lynch told the New York Post that Mr Iannazzo was fired from the wealth management firm as a direct result of the incident.

“Our company does not tolerate behaviour of this kind. We immediately investigated and have taken action. This individual is no longer employed at our firm,” a statement said.

After initially fleeing the store before police arrived at the call of an employee, Mr Iannazzo later turned himself in.

He told a local news station that he freaked out after his son's reaction to the drink, causing him to return to the store.

“My son lost the capacity to breathe properly; his lips and face swelled up, and he required an EpiPen shot, but it did not offer him relief,” Mr Iannazzo told WTNH. “I called 911. My son then went to the bathroom, threw up and fell unconscious to the floor. He threw up again. My wife gave him another EpiPen while I called 911 again. Thank God, he is doing okay.”

“I was out of my mind with fear for him when I returned to Robeks, and I wish I had not done so,” Mr Iannazzo said. “I also wish they had been more careful preparing my son’s beverage. I will be extending my apologies personally to the Robeks organization, particularly the staff that was working there that night.”

“My actions at Robeks were wrong, and I deeply regret them. They do not reflect my values or my character. I feel terrible that I lost my composure so completely,” he said.

Mr Iannazzo has since been charged with intimidation based on bigotry or bias, breach of peace and criminal trespass.

Image credits: TikTok / Fairfield Police Department

“Absolutely a farce”: Mitch’s expletive-ridden tirade against judges

Mitch has unleashed on judges Shaynna Blaze, Neale Whitaker, and Darren Palmer, after he and Mark received the lowest score for their kitchen.

The pair received harsh criticism for their “dumb” decision to use drawers to store dry food in their main kitchen, with Neale describing it as “all style over substance”.

Image: Channel 9

“The comments are stupid. I have no respect for the judges so I shouldn’t let somebody hurt me that I have no respect for,” Mitch said.

Mark also emphasised that they would not take on any of the judge’s suggestions.

Channel 9’s censors were working overtime during the episode, as Mitch said “F*** you!” each time host Scott Cam revealed one of the scores for their kitchen.

“I’m supposed to listen to them? Go f*** yourselves!” Mitch said.

“I’m not interested in their feedback. Their feedback is irrelevant.”

Mitch and Mark were also fuming over the appearance of Luke’s fiancé, Olivia, on the show once again, after she was spotted helping Luke and Josh prepare for the room reveals.

Image: Channel 9

Olivia was filmed helping the twins clean and style their kitchen in a breach of the rules.

Despite being spotted doing the same thing in master bedroom week, her help didn’t affect the brothers’ scores or even receive mention on judgement day.

“The boys (twins Josh and Luke) brought in help last night that Scotty clearly knows about because it’s all on camera and yet it has no impact,” Mitch said to a producer.

“So, this is absolutely a farce.”

Despite their frustrations, Mitch and Mark were still good sports over Kirsty and Jesse’s win.

The country musicians won $120,000 in prizes for their navy blue and gold kitchen, which received a perfect score from Neale and Shaynna.

Image: Channel 9

“My [arm] hair is standing on end that’s how perfectly they have done the five-zone kitchen in this space,” Darren said, awarding them a 9.5 score for not including a second bin in their butler’s pantry.

Neale said the room was “everything he wanted to see and feel in a kitchen”, joking that his hair was also standing on end despite being bald.

Ronnie and Georgie came second for their neutral kitchen, after receiving criticism for their small cupboards.

Tanya and Vito’s pink and terrazzo kitchen came in fourth, with Neale noting: “This is a kitchen that says love me or hate me, but don’t ignore me.”

Shaynna pointed out that the fridge was in the wrong place, there was no bin, and their terrazzo benchtop offered little space for people to sit at or prepare food.

“It makes me sick because they imported this [stone bench] and it is stunning but there’s no way to do anything different with that,” Darren commented.

Image: Channel 9

Home and Away star's freedom of speech tirade

Former Home And Away star Isabel Lucas is reportedly throwing her support behind controversial celebrity chef Pete Evans if a recent, rambling Instagram post is anything to go by.

The 36-year-old, who played Tasha Andrews on the show from 2003-2006, took to the social media platform to share an inspirational quote about "truth" earlier this week, but it was her lengthy and bizarre caption that featured under the post that raised eyebrows.

The post didn't specifically mention Evans, but many believed the tirade was Lucas' way of rallying behind the chef.

Lucas kicked off her post with another famous quote by Evelyn Beatrice Hall: “I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

She then launched into a rant about “freedom of speech”.

“I have been wanting to speak about freedom of speech and censorship here for a long time,” she wrote.

“If you are feeling cautious to ask worthy questions because of what bullies, or those who lack insight or compassion might say, may you remember the words of Evelyn Beatrice Hall.

“May you be inspired by the countless courageous ones who have expressed their truth in the face of adversity: Rosa May Parks, John F Kennedy, Robert F Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr, Eddie Mabo, Malcolm X, Joan of Arc, Nikola Tesla, Julian Assange, Socrates, Jesus, John Lennon, Hypatia, Nelson Mandela, Maya Angelou, Michael Leunig, Waris Dirie, thousands of women, called ‘witches’ … and countless others.”

The post continued with Lucas claiming that “historically and culturally, many of these people we herald today as change-makers have been ridiculed, censored and violently opposed.”

“Many received death threats, or had their lives taken before their legacy or questions could be accepted as self-evident,” she posted.

“I’m hearing many conversations around the amount of censorship friends are experiencing Facebook, Instagram accounts are being removed, shadow banned and numerous YouTube videos deleted.

“Do you agree in the need for cultivating open, informed and respectful conversations about the mainstream narratives?

“How do we encourage our conscience-barometers and humanitarians to courageously express themselves?

“May we continue to support those who practice freedom of speech and shed light on the uncomfortable truths that challenges us.”

She concluded with yet another quote – this time by Albert Einstein – “blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth.”

This isn't the first time Lucas has caused controversy, as late last year she revealed she had refused a COVID-19 test on the set of her film Bosch & Rockit, instead claiming her immune system was strong from how she "lives and eats and thinks".

“I gave my duty of care of what I could offer to respect everyone’s health and maintain my own health, and I shared that, and I opted out of doing the COVID test,” she said at the time.

Natalie Barr has revealed her “true” feelings for her Sunrise co-host Samantha Armytage in a hilarious new clip.

The breakfast show hosts allowed fans to ask them anything in an open and honest video, and Nat let her true emotions be heard.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Sunrise (@sunriseon7) on Jul 11, 2019 at 5:53pm PDT

A viewer asked whether both Samantha and Nat were “as nice as they appear to be” on the show to which Natalie had a cutting reply.

Instead of sticking to the answer you might expect from the breakfast show host, fans got to see a different side.

“No, she’s a b***h-face mole,” she said in reference to Samantha.

While this comment could be taken as a savage insult, both co-hosts laughed it off showing they’re just as close as fans could hope.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Sunrise (@sunriseon7) on Jan 17, 2019 at 1:05pm PST

“I am,” Sam replied after breaking into a fit of laughter. So, are we as nice as we appear? We don’t always appear to be nice.”

Paul Keating's shock tirade at Channel 9 during ABC interview

Former prime minister Paul Keating has unleashed a scathing tirade against the shock Nine and Fairfax merger announced yesterday.

Appearing on ABC’s 7.30 on Thursday night, Mr Keating slammed the Nine network’s plans to create a new national media giant, reiterating claims he had made in a statement released earlier on Thursday that Nine had the ethics of an alley cat and its pus will leak into Fairfax.

When asked by host Elle Fanning why he had such a “dim view” of Nine, Mr Keating did not hold back.

“It’s such a low brow outfit,” he said. “I have said chequebook journalism, foot in the door journalism. It’s a low brow show and it always has been, and people who have worked there have been happy to take the money working for a low brow outfit.”

Fmr PM Paul Keating tells #abc730 that Nine is a “low-brow outfit” whose pus will leak into Fairfax. #auspol #FairfaxNine pic.twitter.com/eyPaTIKstR
— abc730 (@abc730) July 26, 2018

“I have fought more television and radio companies than anyone in the business, and my fight - a series of issues I have had with Nine were about one thing and one thing only: Kerry Packer trying to get hold of control of John Fairfax and sons,” he replied.

“Because as Prime Minister I prevented Kerry Packer lifting his share of John Fairfax to 14.9 per cent control.

“Kerry Packer had the Nine Network chase me in private life.

“But I’m a big boy, I know how to punch. People said to me after a whole series of things on 60 Minutes. They said, ‘Mr Keating, are you going to take Mr Packer to court for defamation?’ I said, ‘No, I have more expensive remedies in mind for Mr Packer’.

“That was taking Fairfax from him which I had Brian Haradine (who was in the Senate) do in 1997 to 1998. In other words, I made sure he didn’t allow (John) Howard to get a majority to let Turnbull do what he did today.”

Under the $4.2 billion deal, Nine Entertainment Co. Holdings Limited (Nine) and Fairfax Media Limited (Fairfax) will merge, with the new company to simply be called Nine.

The deal is expected to be completed at the end of the year with the centuries old Fairfax name to disappear.

Bistro owner’s expletive-laden Twitter tirade over unsatisfied customer

A bistro owner has launched an expletive-laden Twitter tirade at a customer who left the business a one-star review on the website TripAdvisor.

The customer, known only as Helen E, went onto the review site to post a rating of Manchester eatery Hispi, where she claims she was let down by the bistro’s “complete lack of customer relations”.

“We arrived and were seated and asked what we wanted to drink. Champagne for the ladies at £90 ($163) a bottle and a bottle of red wine at £120 ($217),” the review began.

“Our friend likes lemonade with his wine and this restaurant only stocks bottles of cloudy lemonade.

“We asked could they go and get some or could we. Shop was two minutes away.

“There was no movement on this at all so for the sake of a £1 ($.180) bottle of lemonade and putting yourself out, the restaurant let us walk away. Mustn’t need our cash or custom.

“I find it difficult to understand how you wouldn’t stock the basic mixers that are most commonly used for drinking. Obviously I don’t know much.”

But if the restaurant owner Gary Usher saw that as constructive criticism he had a funny way of showing it, launching into a scathing, expletive laden Twitter tirade.

“We often nip out for people’s requests. It’s part of great hospitality. We just don’t do it if you’re a rude ****,” Mr Usher tweeted.

“We were happy to go to the shop for your mate’s dreadful red wine spritzer ... We just didn’t like you,” he continued.

Then he started posting Tweets which detailed the poor behaviour of recent customers.

I’m paying so I can ask Katy at Wreckfish last week why she’s just a waitress
— STICKY (@StickyWalnut) May 9, 2018

I’m paying so I can tell natalia at sticky on Thursday just gone that I think tattoos are vile on women & why has she ruined her body.
— STICKY (@StickyWalnut) May 9, 2018

I’m paying so I can say things like “get me another one”
I’m paying so I can slip my tip in the waitresses back pocket
— STICKY (@StickyWalnut) May 9, 2018

What are your thoughts?
