Outrage over definitive chocolate bar power rankings

Kit kats are god tier. Turkish delights go on the bottom. Have you ever noticed that out of a box of favourites that they get left behind?" points out one user.</p> <p>Even Todd McKenney got on board with the banter, saying he was “too angry” for a response.</p> <p>"#violetcrumble was robbed! Who gives a rats arse about Turkish Delight? I'm so furious right now. Please don't reply - too angry," the star wrote.</p> <p>Bouchet spoke to<span> </span><em><a rel="noopener" href="https://kitchen.nine.com.au/latest/sydney-dad-trolls-wife-viral-chocolate-bar-ranking/935f3ba8-6c09-4402-81f0-1051b4acc2d3" target="_blank">Nine Honey</a></em><span> </span>about the divisive chocolate bar rankings.</p> <p>"Yesterday afternoon I was driving back from a few meetings and just knew that Australia had to be told the chocolate bar rankings by an expert that knows exactly what they're talking about," he said.</p> <p>"During my 4-years of university I lived on nothing but black coffee and chocolate bars, so there's no higher authority in the country than me — that's just a fact."</p> <p>The public outrage was surprising to Bouchet.</p> <p>"So far I've had hundreds of comments, but none that have presented a valid point on why my rankings are flawed,” he said.</p> <p>"I was a little surprised at the public response, I didn't realise people were so protective of their favourite chocolate bars. Some people hit back at me as if I were insulting a beloved family member, it's really quite amusing."</p>

Candied bacon ice cream

<p>Anyone that has ever melted milk chocolate over salty popcorn, knows that sweet and savoury is a winning combination. This recipe may be little unorthodox, but we promise it’s worth the risk.</p> <p>If you’re up for something a little different (or maybe some ice cream for breakfast) why not give it a go?</p> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Ingredients:</span></strong></p> <ul> <li>2 smoked bacon rashers</li> <li>600ml cream</li> <li>1 cup milk</li> <li>100g caster sugar</li> <li>4 egg yolks</li> <li>pinch salt</li> <li>¼ teaspoon smoked paprika</li> </ul> <p><em> For the candied bacon</em></p> <ul> <li>4 smoked bacon rashers, grilled</li> <li>1 cup brown sugar</li> <li>½ cup maple syrup</li> <li>Honeycomb to serve</li> </ul> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Method: </span></strong></p> <ol> <li>Preheat oven to 160°C.</li> <li>Cut the rashers of smoked bacon in half and place bacon in a deep heavy based saucepan.</li> <li>Whisk together the cream, milk and caster sugar and pour over the bacon.</li> <li>Heat the saucepan over a low heat being careful not to boil the milk approximately 5 minutes.</li> <li>Allow the mixture to cool slightly and remove the bacon pieces</li> <li>Remove half a cup of the cream mixture and whisk together with the egg yolks. Salt and paprika.</li> <li>Return the mixture to the saucepan and heat stirring constantly until mixture has thickened and coats the back of the spoon.</li> <li>Remove the custard from the saucepan and cool in a bowl. Return the bacon to the bowl and cover with a piece of baking paper to prevent a skin forming. Cool in the refrigerator 20 minutes. Whilst custard is cooling, prepare the candied bacon.</li> <li>Place the grilled bacon on a tray lined with baking paper and pour the combined sugar and maple syrup. Coat the bacon well with the mixture.</li> <li>Place the tray in the pre-heated oven until bacon is caramelised, this should take approximately 15 minutes. Remove and place bacon on a wire rack to cool.</li> <li>Remove the custard from the refrigerator and remove the bacon pieces and discard. Turn ice cream churn on, slowly pour the ice cream into the ice-cream machine. Finely chop 2 of the candied bacon rashers into very small pieces and add the bacon to the ice cream and churn for 20 minutes.</li> <li>Remove the ice cream from the churn and place in an airtight container freeze for 12 hours prior to serving.</li> <li>Serve scoops of bacon ice cream with a shard of candied bacon and top with chopped honeycomb.</li> </ol> <p>Are you daring enough to try this kooky combination? US airports use clowns, candy and ponies to relax passengers

<p>Airports across the US are recruiting clowns and miniature animals in a bid to soothe grumpy passengers.</p> <p>As the busy summer season kicks off, droves of holidaymakers are facing lengthy airport security queues and delayed flights.</p> <p>Many have been venting their frustration with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) on Twitter, using the hashtag #iHateTheWait.</p> <p>Desperate to lighten the mood, airport bosses have been forced to come up with some creative solutions.</p> <p>San Diego International Airport has brought in circus performers to help keep delayed passengers smiling, Good Morning America reported.</p> <p><img width="500" height="394" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/24050/airport-pony-in-text-1_500x394.jpg" alt="Airport Pony In Text 1"/></p> <p>Meanwhile, Denver International Airport is literally sweetening up its customers, offering candy to those waiting in long lines.</p> <p>And Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport has even enlisted "therapy ponies", miniature horses whose sole job is to delight passengers.</p> <p>"Animals help reduce stress and anxiety levels and put smiles on people's faces," airport spokeswoman Mindy Kershner told NBC news.</p> <p>"Unlike service animals, who are working and should not be touched, therapy animals can be patted and hugged."</p> <p><img width="500" height="254" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/24049/airport-pony-in-text-2_500x254.jpg" alt="Airport Pony In Text 2"/></p> <p>The TSA has attributed the long lines to an increased number of travellers, more passengers bringing carry-on bags, the need for more robust security screenings, and a decrease in the number of security officers.</p> <p>This week USA Today reported 450 American Airlines passengers were stranded at Chicago's O'Hare Airport overnight after getting stuck in TSA queues.</p> <p>What do you think about the US airport’s solution? How to: make a candy cane dog treat

<p>Who doesn’t enjoy a candy cane during the holiday season? Dogs, included! &nbsp;While you’re baking the treats this year don’t forget about your pooch. These treats are both festive and safe for your furry friend so now the whole family can enjoy the classic Christmas candy! It also make a nice Secret Santa gift for the canine lover in your life. Here’s how to make them.</p><p><strong>What you’ll need:</strong></p><ul><li>3 cups flour</li><li>½ cup powdered milk</li><li>1 cup chicken stock</li><li>3 eggs, one for egg wash</li><li>2 tablespoon red food colouring (optional)&nbsp;</li><li>½ teaspoon peppermint oil</li></ul><p><strong>What to do:</strong></p><p>1. Combined the flour, powdered milk, chicken stock and two eggs. Whisk together until well combined.</p><p>2. Knead dough and add more flour until no longer sticky. Divide in halves.</p><p>3. In one half create a well and add peppermint and food colouring. Mix together until desired colour is reached.</p><p>4. Place both dough rolls into a bowl, cover with gladwrap and refrigerate for approximately an hour to cool and firm the dough.</p><p>5. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.</p><p>6. Whisk egg for wash.</p><p>7. Break each dough colour into pieces and roll each to an equal length.</p><p>8. Twist each colour together and create a candy cane shape.</p><p>9. Place candy canes in baking sheet lined tray and brush with egg.</p><p>10. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until firm.</p><p>11. Cool completely before bundling together as a gift or giving it to your pooch.</p>
