Bradman Best has announced his engagement to partner Kayla Fenech, sharing the news after a proposal at a winery in New South Wales.

Kayla, the daughter of Australian boxing great Jeff Fenech, revealed the milestone on social media, posting photos of the moment with the caption, “Here’s to forever.”

The proposal took place at Kinklewood Estate Winery and featured a white runway leading to a floral display, along with photographs marking moments from the couple’s relationship.

The pair’s daughter, Kaliyah, who was born in December, was also part of the celebration, with one image showing the couple posing together with their young child.

The NRL star presented his fiancée with an emerald-cut engagement ring, with friends, family and fellow players quick to offer their congratulations online.

“MR & MRS BESSTTTTTTT 💍💍💍 love you guys,” NRLW player Millie Elliott wrote.

“Congrats fams,” added Penrith Panthers player Brian To’o.

Best’s mother Tobi also shared a message, writing, “Here’s to a lifetime of love and laughter together💍💓💓💓…. And having me as your crazy MIL.”

“Congratulations guys! How good,” said Nicho Hynes from the Cronulla Sharks.

Best, who plays for the Newcastle Knights, recently returned from the United States after the club opened its NRL season in Las Vegas.

He and Kayla have been together for several years and made their relationship public on Instagram in November 2024.

The couple shared another milestone in June 2025 when they announced they were expecting a baby, with a sonogram photo and a pair of baby shoes.

A short time later they revealed they were having a daughter, with Best kicking a miniature NRL football that burst into pink powder during a gender reveal.

The couple recently travelled to the United States together for the opening round of the NRL season, where the Knights played in Las Vegas.

Kayla has previously spoken about her father’s reaction when she first told him about the relationship.

When she called to say she was dating Best, he “went apes–t”, she recalled in an interview with News Corp.

Jeff Fenech later explained he had previously warned his daughter about dating NRL players.

“So when she rang and told me, I went off the deep end. I gave her a roasting. She kept trying to say, ‘Dad, he’s a lovely guy’. Kayla was telling me every day how nice he was,” he said.

“Bradman knew I was angry, but he told Kayla, ‘I’ll prove your dad wrong’ – and he has.”
