Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of their recent appearance at a charity gala in Canada.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the David Foster Foundation gala on August 7 and 8, marking 40 years of fundraising by the foundation, dedicated to providing support to families with children undergoing life-saving organ transplants, and raising awareness.
Footage shared on social media shows the pair arriving at the event and walking past a large Scottish band gathered backstage.
Harry stopped to greet members of the band, asking one: “How are you doing? Alright?”
The couple then made their way to the official entrance, where they were formally welcomed.
Other guests included David Foster’s wife, singer Katharine McPhee, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and singer Josh Groban.
Harry and Meghan shared a series of photographs from the event alongside a message explaining the charity’s work.
“The @davidfosterfoundation is dedicated to providing financial support to Canadian families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants.
“In addition to helping families with their non-medical expenses, the Foundation strives to increase public awareness and education about the importance of becoming a registered organ donor in Canada and the United States.”
Foster founded the charity in 1986, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex having longstanding ties to Foster and McPhee.
McPhee previously described the friendship between the two couple in a 2020 interview with Access Hollywood, saying: “My husband has a really, really beautiful relationship with Harry. They’re like, they’re so cute. They’re like father and son.”
“We just stay in touch with them,” she said. “But mostly, Meghan and I knew each other from childhood, but really Harry and my husband are friends. It’s really nice.”
The couple’s Canadian appearance came days after Meghan celebrated her 45th birthday on August 4.
Harry and Meghan have also recently reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla in the UK, meeting the King and Queen for tea at Highgrove House with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Harry is also understood to have invited his father to attend the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, as the pair continue efforts to repair their relationship.
