Former NRL player Alex McKinnon has announced his engagement to partner Lily Malone after popping the question during a romantic trip to France.

McKinnon, 33, and his 23-year-old fiancée shared the happy news on Instagram, with Malone posting a carousel of photos proudly showing off her sparkling engagement ring.

She kept the caption simple, writing “28.10” along with a ring emoji.

The pair posed in front of some of Paris’ most iconic landmarks, including outside the Louvre Museum.

In one photo, McKinnon holds Malone’s left hand as they gaze lovingly at each other. Another shows her sitting on his lap, flashing her new rock as they lean in for a kiss.

Malone also shared close-up shots of the ring, which features a large diamond on a gold band.

The post quickly filled with well-wishes from loved ones.

“To say we are excited is an understatement you two are very special we are so happy for you and welcome 🤗 you into our family Alex,” one family member commented.

Another person joked about the impressive ring, writing, “Well, we know where one of the louvre heist diamonds ended up 💍 🤣 congratulations”.

The couple first went public with their relationship last year, posting a photo together in March 2024 with their arms around each other.

McKinnon shared the picture first, and Malone later posted the same shot with a love heart emoji.

The engagement marks a new chapter for McKinnon, who separated from ex-wife Teigan Power in January 2022 after five years of marriage. The pair share three children and have previously said they remain on good terms as they co-parent.
