Nicole Kidman fans have directed abuse at Keith Urban’s guitarist, Maggie Baugh, unfairly blaming her for the couple’s separation after the actress filed for divorce this week.

Court documents filed in Davidson County, Tennessee, confirmed Kidman cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending her 19-year marriage to Urban.

Baugh is currently performing with Urban on the American leg of his High and Alive tour.

She became the target of online criticism after footage surfaced of Urban altering the lyrics to his song Fighter – a track widely believed to have been inspired by Kidman.

In the performance, filmed on September 26, Urban changed the words from: “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter” to: “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”

Baugh later shared a clip of the duet on Instagram, sparking an outpouring of vitriol from Kidman supporters.

“This is who he chose over Nicole Kidman,” one fan wrote.

“What in the hillbilly hound dog is this … homewrecker with a cowboy hat,” another commented.

“Homewrecker,” others added repeatedly.

The online backlash escalated with more vitriolic remarks, “Homewreckers either never stick around or get dumped. Which one are you?” One said.

“They always cheat down, smh (shakes my head). Just keep him off the drugs,” another added, referencing Urban’s well-documented struggles with addiction.

Baugh has not responded publicly to the attacks, maintaining silence and focusing on her performances with Urban. She joined his touring band last year.

Kidman and Urban share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

According to divorce filings obtained by TMZ, Kidman will be considered the “primary” parent, while Urban will have parenting time every other weekend, from Saturday 10am to Sunday 6pm.

The documents also reveal neither party is seeking child support, with both listing their individual gross monthly income as “exceeding $100,000.”

Urban has reportedly moved out of the family’s Nashville property, while Kidman remains at the home with her children and her sister Antonia.

A source told Daily Mail US: “Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour.

“It’s like they both went their separate ways. Now she’s getting comfortable in a dream home in London on the other side of the world.”

Kidman was previously married to Tom Cruise between 1990 and 2001, during which time the pair adopted two children.

She and Urban married in June 2006 at the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in Sydney, a year after meeting at the G’Day LA event in Hollywood.
