Good news: Qantas puts an end to confusing travel rule
Most people when preparing for their journey away pack all the necessities and make sure that everything is in order.
But one thing we fail to do is read the fine print on our plane tickets, because if we did, then we would know that instead of carrying our ticket on our phones, we actually need to print out a physical copy.
Seems like a waste of paper, but those who only keep digital copies of their tickets are actually failing to follow instructions – until now.
If you’ve previously travelled with Qantas, check your e-ticket and you would notice that at the top it says: “Each passenger travelling needs a printed copy of this document for airport security checks.”
But now, in a smart move, Qantas has changed its terms and the message now reads: “We recommend that you carry a printed copy of the e-ticket document or save this on your phone.”
Meaning those who never used to print out their tickets can go about their day as usual and save trees in the process.
But passengers are divided, as some say that they would never head to the airport without a physical copy of their ticket, while others say they stopped printing out their tickets a long time ago.
And now, with the recent introduction of digital boarding passes, where you can scan them through your phone, we’re certainly heading into the modern era.
