Australian politics and early-2000s pop culture collided in rural England this week, with Pauline Hanson catching up with former Neighbours star Holly Valance for what looked suspiciously like the first episode of an unlikely travel series.
The pair spent the day touring the stunning grounds of Blenheim Palace before retiring to the Cotswolds pub owned by former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson for lunch and a few cold drinks.
Senator Hanson documented the outing on Instagram, writing: “While here in England, I took some time out to catch up with Holly Valance who has been a staunch backer of true conservatives both here in the UK, and myself in Australia.”
She added: “We visited Blenheim Palace for a wonderful private tour of this enormously historic beauty in Woodstock before stopping off at The Farmer’s Dog for lunch and a few of Jeremy’s beers. What a wonderful day!”
If that wasn’t enough to make Australians do a double take, Hanson followed up with a second post featuring the pair enjoying pints in the summer sunshine, captioning it: “Nothing like a beer with my mate Holly Valance at the pub on a hot day.”
Valance appeared equally pleased with the reunion, sharing a similar message of her own: “Nothing like a beer with your mate at the pub on a hot day,” complete with an Australian flag emoji for good measure.
For many Australians, seeing Hanson and the woman once known to millions as Flick Scully from Neighbours sharing beers in the English countryside was a combination that probably wasn’t appearing on too many 2026 bingo cards.
The meeting comes after Valance publicly backed Hanson in recent months, describing the One Nation leader as an “amazing, loving Australian” and praising her willingness to stick to her convictions over nearly three decades in public life.
Politics aside, the photos captured a distinctly Aussie scene transplanted to the Cotswolds: two expats abroad, a couple of pints on the table and a reminder that no matter where Australians travel in the world, eventually someone will find a pub and settle in for a chat.
As for whether Clarkson himself wandered over to say hello, the internet may have to wait for episode two.
