Karl parties with Julie Bishop in the hinterlands

Karl Stefanovic and Julie Bishop partied the night away celebrating the marriage of Karl’s own wedding planner, Teegan Deck.

The Today presenter was in the Gold Coast with his wife Jasmine for the big day, while Julie is believed to have flown solo following her 2022 break-up.

The event was held at the Beechmont Estate for Teegan and partner Dean Walsh, with a pre-wedding celebration held before the big weekend.

Karl kicked off the festivities with a post to social media, sharing a picture of himself and Jasmine in the hinterlands, smiling on a balcony at sunset, alongside the caption “Punching overs I know. Whatever. Queensland. Heaven.”

“Gorgeous,” commented fellow TV personality Michelle Bridges, with Today Extra host Sylvia Jeffreys echoing her sentiment.

“Couple goals,” wrote ‘The Boss of Bali’ Jason Fong.

Meanwhile, ex-foreign minister Julie took a similar approach, sharing a picture to her stories of herself with the happy couple, with Karl between them.

“Beginning the wedding weekend,” she wrote, “with family and friends.”

The celebrations continued for everyone, with friends - new and old - basking in the weekend of love and joy for Teegan and Dean. Karl and Julie caught up throughout, effectively putting to rest any lingering concerns over a prior moment of on-air tension.

And if the next wave of pictures shared to Instagram were anything to go by, it was smiles all around for the newlyweds and their crowd of loved ones - friends, family, and Australian celebrities alike.

The likes of Karl, Julie, Jasmine, former cricket James Brayshaw, and horse trainer Chris Waller were all seen together at various points throughout the night of the nuptials, with fans delighted to join in on their moment of fun through the pictures to Instagram.

One picture, shared by Jasmine, saw her smiling for the camera with happy bride Teegan, ex-foreign minister Julie, and a handful of other beaming guests in stunning gowns. The picture saw a chorus of compliments in the comment section, with cries of “stunning” and “congratulations” most prominent.

Another, posted by Julie and captioned “men in black”, saw Julie at a dinner table with Karl, Chris, and James, all dressed in black and beaming for the camera.

As for whether or not the group will be spotted again any time soon - this is their first wedding celebration together since Karl and Jasmine’s own big day in 2018 - remains to be determined, but in the meantime, their latest gathering seems like a joyous night they aren’t likely to forget any time soon.

Images: Instagram

War hero Ben Roberts-Smith lists breathtaking Queensland estate

Embattled war hero Ben Roberts-Smith has listed his breathtaking Queensland hinterland estate, just days after he denied any war crime allegations.

Roberts-Smith bought the five-bedroom, two-storey home in Ilkley in the Sunshine Coast hinterland for $1.45 million in 2015.

The sprawling property however has undergone numerous renovations and is now set to fetch more than its selling price when it goes to auction next month.

The Victoria Cross recipient and his family fell in love with the property’s private setting when they moved to the Sunshine Coast to pursue a work opportunity five years ago.

“It’s a magnificent area and a beautiful home,” the couple said.

“Unfortunately due to changes in our employment, lifestyle and our children’s school, the time is right for us to move back to Brisbane and to sell.”

The family got to work in 2015 and built an outdoor area featuring an infinity pool and pool house with a barbecue, kitchen and dining setting.

Ray White Buderim agent Kathryn Willshire said that the Ilkley Road property is one of the best acreage estates in the region.

“Ilkley is just eight minutes from Buderim, which is one of the most popular home buying destinations in all of Queensland,” Ms Willshire said.

“Everyone is looking for a tree change or a sea change in 2020 and here you can have the best of both worlds as it’s only 20 minutes to the beach, yet set in a stunning bush environment.”

The private-gated, two-storey home boats five bedrooms and four bathrooms, and sits on a huge 3.5ha block.

“The view is arguably one of the most breathtaking settings I have ever seen,” Ms Willshire said.

“The owners have created a formal manicured garden brimming full of roses and gardenias.

“The elaborate formal dining area overlooks a charming internal French Provincial inspired courtyard.”

Sunshine Coast hinterland properties have been in strong demand with buyers seeking a treechange since COVID-19.

Mr Roberts-Smith’s listing of his family home follows just days after the release of a damning inquiry into the behaviour of elite Australian troops in the Middle East.

Mr Roberts-Smith has denied any wrongdoing during his time in Afghanistan or Iraq.
