Hollywood legend's cause of death revealed

<p>Renowned filmmaker David Lynch, best known for directing <em>Dune</em>, <em>Blue Velvet</em>, <em>Mulholland Drive </em>and the unforgettable <em>Twin Peaks</em> series passed away on January 16 at the age of 78. Now, his cause of death has been officially confirmed.</p> <p>According to TMZ, which obtained Lynch’s death certificate from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the legendary director died from cardiac arrest due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Dehydration was also listed as a significant contributing factor.</p> <p>Lynch’s family shared the news of his passing on social media last month: “It is with deep regret that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch,” the family’s statement on Facebook read. “There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us. But, as he would say, ‘Keep your eye on the doughnut and not on the hole.’”</p> <p>In the days leading up to his death, Lynch had been affected by the deadly wildfires near Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Los Angeles. However, his longtime producer, Sabrina Sutherland, confirmed that he had safely evacuated his home at the time.</p> <p>Lynch had been battling health issues for years, having been diagnosed with emphysema in 2020. In a November 2024 interview with <em>People</em>, the filmmaker admitted that he relied on supplemental oxygen for daily activities. He also reflected on his decades-long smoking habit, which began at the age of eight and ended in 2022.</p> <p>“What you sow is what you reap,” Lynch said at the time. “You’re literally playing with fire. It can bite you. I took a chance, and I got bit.”</p> <p>His death prompted an outpouring of tributes from Hollywood stars, including actor Kyle MacLachlan, who worked with Lynch on <em>Dune, Blue Velvet </em>and <em>Twin Peaks</em>.</p> <p>“Forty-two years ago, for reasons beyond my comprehension, David Lynch plucked me out of obscurity to star in his first and last big-budget movie,” MacLachlan wrote on Instagram. “While the world has lost a remarkable artist, I’ve lost a dear friend who imagined a future for me and allowed me to travel in worlds I could never have conceived on my own.”</p> <p>Naomi Watts, who starred in <em>Mulholland Drive</em>, also paid tribute, sharing her heartbreak over Lynch’s passing: “My heart is broken. My Buddy Dave… The world will not be the same without him,” she wrote on Instagram. She praised his “exquisite storytelling, which elevated cinema and inspired generations of filmmakers across the globe.”</p> <p>While Lynch will be dearly missed, his legacy as an innovative and visionary filmmaker will continue to influence the world of cinema for years to come.</p> <p><em>Images: Instagram</em></p>

AFL legend dies at age 43

<p>AFL West Coast premiership winner Adam Hunter has died at the age of 43. </p> <p>The athlete was found unresponsive just after midnight in Bunbury, south of Perth, and could not be revived.</p> <p>Hunter was coach of the South Bunbury reserves team and had attended training on Tuesday night prior to his death, before he returned home complaining of chest pains and an ambulance was called to the house he shares with his mother.</p> <p>WA Police issued a statement on Wednesday, saying, “About 12:20am this morning, 5 February 2025, police and St John Ambulance were called to a residence in Withers upon report of a non-responsive male."</p> <p>“Upon arrival paramedics immediately commenced first aid, however; the man could not be revived. The 43-year-old man was declared deceased at the scene."</p> <p>“The death is being considered non-suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.”</p> <p>Hunter played 151 games for the Eagles and the defender turned swingman solidified his place in history at the 2006 grand final.</p> <p>He kicked West Coast’s last goal of the game, his celebration becoming an iconic moment in club history as they sealed victory over the Sydney Swans after falling short in the same match-up in the 2005 decider.</p> <p>“We are devastated by the loss of 2006 premiership Eagle Adam Hunter,” West Coast said in a statement on Wednesday. “Our thoughts are with his family, teammates and friends.”</p> <p><em>Image credits: West Coast Eagles </em></p>

<p><em>I'm A Celebrity... Aussie TV and theatre legend found dead at age 67

<p>Australian TV and theatre legend Nicholas Eadie has died at the age of 67. </p> <p>Eadie, who was known for his work on multiple shows, including <em>Cop Shop</em> and <em>Underbelly</em>, died in Sydney on Wednesday, with his friend and fellow actor Will Conyers confirming the sad news in a social media post.</p> <p>“Vale, Nicholas Eadie, 1958 – 2025,” he wrote.</p> <p>“I send my deepest sympathy to all those that were touched by this very special artist and human being.”</p> <p>According to the <em>Daily Mail</em>, Eadie's body was found at his home, although no cause of death has been given.</p> <p>Many of Eadie’s industry colleagues have taken to social media to pay tribute to him following the news of his passing.</p> <p>Actor Rhys Muldoon, who worked with Eadie a “number of times” wrote that he was “shocked” at the news, describing him as “a great actor” and “one of life’s best scallywags”.</p> <p>Toby Schmitz, who appeared in <em>Underbelly</em> alongside Eadie, also paid tribute to him on X.</p> <p>“Bon voyage Nicholas Eadie. An actor thrumming with savvy truth, dangerous wit; a thrilling artist,” he posted.</p> <p>Theatre manager Les Solomon spoke of his devastation at the loss of the “magnificent” Eadie, describing him as “one of Australia’s finest actors”.</p> <p>Eadie’s career began shortly after his graduation from the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in Sydney in 1980. He landed the role of Constable Sam Phillips on Channel Seven’s <em>Cop Shop</em>, and stayed on the series for two years.</p> <p>Across the following decades, he appeared in many well-known Australian film and television productions, including <em>A Country Practice</em>, <em>Return to Snowy River</em>, <em>Halifax FP</em> and <em>Vietnam</em>, which he starred in alongside Nicole Kidman. </p> <p>Eadie was also a successful theatre actor, starring in <em>A Midsummer Nights Dream</em> and <em>The Taming of the Shrew</em>, among many others.</p> <p><em>Image credits: IMBD / news.com.au</em></p>

AFL legend foils brazen daylight robbery

Olympic legend gives health update from hospital

<p>Former Olympic swimmer Giaan Rooney has updated her fans after undergoing a "long overdue" operation and a stint in hospital. </p> <p>The Olympic gold-medallist has spent the "past couple of days" at St Vincent's Private Hospital in Sydney, taking to Instagram from her hospital bed to update her 30,000 followers on her condition. </p> <p>"Been in hospital the past couple of days - had an operation to fix an old birth injury (long overdue considering my youngest is 7 & a half!)," Rooney wrote.</p> <p>Rooney revealed that thankfully the surgery went off without a hitch but not everything was smooth sailing, as she added, "I had a bad reaction to the anaesthetic."</p> <p>"I'm home and fine but wanted to highlight our incredible nurses who care for us when we are at our most vulnerable," she wrote.</p> <p> </p> <p>"A huge thank you to Maria, Kira, Rochelle (who caught me when I blacked out) and June amongst many others who go above and beyond every day just doing their job, you are so very appreciated."</p> <p>Hundreds took to the comment section of Rooney's post to share their well wishes for a speedy recovery.</p> <p>"Oh Giaan I'm so sorry to hear that I hope you recover fast and yes they are angels that work in that system," Australian singer and actress Kate Ceberano wrote.</p> <p>"Sorry to read this. Australian broadcasting legend dies at age 78

<p>Australian broadcasting legend Clive Robertson has died at the age of 78 after a battle with cancer. </p> <p>Robertson changed the faced of news reading in the mid-1980s, going off script and making jokes and becoming a ratings sensation for Channel Seven.</p> <p>Robertson began his broadcasting career in 1972 with the ABC before moving to Seven in the 1980s.</p> <p>He was the face of 7News programs such as <em>11AM</em> and <em>Newsworld</em>, and was also a high-rating radio star.</p> <p>At the peak of his fame as an Australian news broadcaster, he was married to another Seven star of the time, Penny Cook from <em>A Country Practice</em>. </p> <p>Robertson once told ABC’s <em>Talking Heads</em> program of his unusual style of news delivery, “I thought I’ll muck around and then they’ll take me off it, you see. And it didn’t work that way … I’d have to say the order of things especially at Channel 9, the order of news items."</p> <p>"And if I said, ‘Look, this is really important’, I’d look at the camera and say, ‘This is a really important story’ and set it up, and if it was an important story, then the audience think, ‘Oh this guy’s a good filter.’ If you said, ‘Look, this is a silly item, I don’t know why we’re running it’ and you run it and it is a silly item, you’ve got them."</p> <p><em>Image credits: Seven </em></p> <p> </p>

NRL legend explains why he's retiring after 33 years

<p>NRL legend Paul Vautin has revealed the exact moment he knew his time on-air was over, just days after announcing his retirement. </p> <p>The 65-year-old shocked the sports world on Sunday when he confirmed his career on TV was coming to an end, saying he's "run out of petrol” and would not be continuing with his job with Channel 9 into 2025. </p> <p>Speaking candidly in the days after the shock announcement, Vautin - who has affectionally been known as Fatty during his career - detailed the exact moment he realised it was time to walk away.</p> <p>“Something changed this year. I’d be driving up in three hours of traffic on a Friday afternoon going ‘oh my god what am I doing?’” he said on SEN’s <em>The Run Home with Joel and Fletch</em>.</p> <p>“In the end I just felt as though I’d rather be at home watching the footy on a Friday night than working on it. I still love the game immensely but I just thought ‘you know what I think I’m done’."</p> <p> </p> <p>“There was one particular moment when the Brisbane Broncos were playing the Roosters on a Friday night at Suncorp and look it was a pretty good game, I was commentating with Joey and we were having a good time."</p> <p>“Then 20 minutes into the second half I was looking out at the field going, ‘Oh my god I am so bored’. I drove home thinking wow that had never happened before and I knew then it was the beginning of the end.”</p> <p>While fans are hopeful the NRL icon will reverse his decision and return to commentary, the 65-year-old says he has no intention of working again.</p> <p>“I’ll let you in on a little secret. I will never work again. I’m done. I’m not looking for work,” Vautin said.</p> <p>“No way. I don’t want to do anything. I don’t want to do radio, podcasts. I don’t want to do anything. NRL legend sacked from radio show

<p>NRL legend Mark 'MG' Geyer has been axed from his popular Triple M radio show that he hosts alongside Mick Molloy. </p> <p>The NSW State of Origin star joined Triple M in 2009 and quickly became one of the network's most popular talents, co-hosting the <em>Mick & MG in the Morning</em> show for many years. </p> <p>Geyer, 56, was absent from Wednesday and Thursday’s shows with Molloy making no mention of his whereabouts.</p> <p>News of Geyer being axed was first reported by <a href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/sydney-confidential/triple-m-rocked-as-mark-mg-geyer-sacked-from-breakfast-show/news-story/c8257f6989eda13b0dde61a9bb3b67d0" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-tgev="event119" data-tgev-container="bodylink" data-tgev-order="c8257f6989eda13b0dde61a9bb3b67d0" data-tgev-label="entertainment" data-tgev-metric="ev"><em>The Daily Telegraph</em> </a>with his departure following in the wake of several on-air talents being let go.</p> <p>The shock sacking comes after it was announced that Mick Molloy would also depart the show next year and return to Melbourne where he’ll host Triple M Melbourne’s breakfast show next year alongside Nick Riewoldt, Titus O’Reily and Rosie Walton.</p> <p>Listeners of the show took to social media to vent their frustration after learning the NRL legend had been let go.</p> <p>“MG has been refreshing to listen to on MMM. He isn’t one of the sanitised radio ‘personalities’ who are full of themselves. MG is honest and speaks from the heart,” one wrote.</p> <p>A second added: “MMM are a total joke, was once a great radio station now run by suits who have no idea on what the listeners want. Aussie Olympic legend announces fifth pregnancy

<p>Aussie Olympic champion Libby Trickett has announced that she is expecting her fifth child with husband Luke. </p> <p>The swimming legend shared her joyous news on Instagram on Friday with an ultrasound image and the caption: “Luke and I are absolutely thrilled (and ever so slightly terrified) to announce that we will be welcoming Baby Trickett 5.0 into the world in April."</p> <p>“Poppy is already excited for another baby, Eddie thinks it will be a little boy, Bronte thinks it will be a little girl and Alfie keeps pointing to my tummy and saying ‘baby’ but really has no idea what’s he’s in for.”</p> <p>The four-time Olympic gold medallist added that this will be her final pregnancy.</p> <p>She wrote: “We must be slightly unhinged or suckers for punishment. Olympic legend given just two years to live

<p>British Olympic legend Sir Chris Hoy has announced that his cancer is terminal.</p> <p>In an interview with <em>The Sunday Times</em>, the six-time Olympic cycling champion revealed that doctors have told him he has between two and four years to live. </p> <p>He told the publication that he had initially been diagnosed with cancer in his prostate, which had spread to his bones. </p> <p>Despite the terminal cancer diagnosis, the athlete remained positive and expressed his gratitude for the messages of support he has been receiving since the article's publication on Sunday. </p> <p>"You may see in the news this weekend some articles about my health, so I just wanted to reassure you all that I'm feeling fit, strong and positive," he wrote on Instagram.</p> <p>"Overwhelmed by all the love and support shown to my family and me. NRL legend calls for help to get newborn baby home

<p>NRL legend Jesse Ramien and his partner Shell are pleading for help to get their newborn baby home after Shell's traumatic birth experience in Bali. </p> <p>The Cronulla Sharks player and his wife travelled to Bali for a friend's wedding while Shell was 33 weeks pregnant, who was cleared by her doctor before their trip. </p> <p>However, after just three days into their holiday, Shell went into early labour which quickly led to an emergency C-section, with mum under anaesthetic and baby boy Teo needing five minutes of resuscitation.</p> <p>Baby Teo was rushed into a neonatal intensive care unit, with his parents not able to meet him until the day after he was born. </p> <p>The family has been torn apart since with the parents still yet to hold Teo, who remains in an incubator, and older son Tallen returning home after Shell’s mother rushed to Bali to help.</p> <p>It is not known when the family can return to Australia, as Teo's condition is still unstable. </p> <p>“There’s just so much uncertainty here. We’ve been told by doctors it could be four weeks before our baby is okay to travel, but that could quickly change to five, six, or seven weeks, who knows,” Ramien told <em><a href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/sharks-star-jesse-ramiens-impassioned-plea-for-help-from-the-australian-government-to-source-flight-to-bring-baby-back-to-australia/news-story/1208830641c06ecb8c2450b95eeabece" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-link-type="article-inline">News Corp</a></em>.</p> <p>“We’re doing everything to contact the Australian embassy to see how we can get home both as quickly as possible, so that our boy can get the medical attention he needs.”</p> <p>A family friend has set up a <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/need-your-help-to-fly-our-boy-teo-home" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GoFundMe</a> page to help the couple get home with their baby on an emergency flight, with $45,000 of their $100,000 goal already raised. </p> <p>“I’ll play for nothing just to get our baby boy home safely,” Ramien said.</p> <p>Shell, who received clearance from her obstetrician and the airline before travelling, ensured her pregnancy was covered by a top travel insurance package, however baby Teo’s medical costs — tallying more than $20,000 so far — are not included, while the total costs to get Baby Teo home could exceed $130,000.</p> <p>Ramien has been sharing updates on Instagram, posting a picture of his new son with the caption, “Home soon my boy,” while Shell added, “Won’t be long my boy, we'll be home soon.”</p> <p><em>Image credits: Instagram / GoFundMe</em></p>

Radio legend calls it quits

<p>Gus Worland has announced his departure from <em>Triple M</em> after 16 years with the network. </p> <p>The radio legend shared the news during <em>The Rush Hour </em>show he co-hosts with Jude Bolton each weekday afternoon on 104.9 in Sydney.</p> <p>"After 16 years, starting back in 2009, I'm leaving Triple M," he said on the show.</p> <p>He revealed that he would be focusing on his foundation Gotcha4Life, dedicated to teaching Aussies how to manage their mental health, with their Mental Fitness Gym program being rolled out in schools around the country. </p> <p>"I've decided to focus 100 per cent on Gotcha4Life which, of course, you blokes have been a part of and the station has been very supportive of me being away and doing that work.</p> <p>"I just feel it's right. It's at the stage now where it really needs critical leadership and critical energy ... just the passion, so forth, that goes behind Gotcha4Life."</p> <p>In an interview with <em>9Honey</em>, he revealed that moving on from the show will be difficult. </p> <p>"Especially when you've done it for more than a few years, you know what I mean? I feel like we've been through the trenches a bit together," he said. </p> <p>He also spoke about how his gig on <em>Triple M </em>has helped him cope with the intensity of the work he is doing for his foundation. </p> <p>"To give me the balance of fun and being able to come in here after horrific stories, and then to see everyone and have a laugh and have a cuddle and eat too much sugar," he said. </p> <p>"I've needed that. I don't know how well I'll go without it, to be honest with you."</p> <p>But despite the uncertainty, Worland said he felt it was "the right call."</p> <p>"It's going to take me probably, you know, a few months or maybe a year to work out whether or not I can just do that job without the balance of media, but I'll still do my Wide World of Sports on Channel 9 and I'll do my Weekend Today on Channel 9," he said. </p> <p>While he has been getting offers from other media organisations, he said that the majority of his energy will be focused on his foundation. </p> <p>"I've got to be strong in my convictions," he said. </p> <p>"Gotcha needs me every day, fully focused."</p> <p>He hopes that one day mental fitness will be a subject in schools. </p> <p>"We've just started a primary schools program and I want to really focus in on the little ones and making sure that they're learning that it's okay to show their emotions at a young age when a lot of us have our emotions turned off," he said. </p> <p>"And I will continue to speak to every pollie [politician] and tell me what's a more important subject than mental fitness."</p> <p>Worland will stay on the show until the end of the year, ahead of his replacement being announced. </p> <p><em>Images: Triple M/ The Rush Hour/ Instagram</em></p>

"In shock ever since": Aussie TV legend opens up on divorce

<p>Noni Hazelhurst has opened up about her high-profile divorce from actor John Jarratt in 1999, admitting she has "been in shock ever since" the relationship split. </p> <p>The former <em>Play School </em>host, 71, wrote candidly about her former husband in her new memoir <em>Dropping The Mask</em>, sharing the real reason they called off their marriage. </p> <p>Hazelhurst and Jarratt were married for 12 years, from 1987 until 1999, and share two sons together, Charlie, 36, and William, 30. </p> <p>The couple even co-hosted <em>Better Homes and Gardens</em> together, but sadly, the show wound up playing a role in their divorce.</p> <p>“John and I had some wonderful times together – and then we didn’t," Hazlehurst told <em><a href="https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/noni-hazlehurst-ex-husband/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Woman’s Day</a></em> in a new interview.</p> <p>“That’s true of many relationships. I wanted a family. John wanted another woman… The ending of my previous relationships had been hard enough, but this was far worse. Hollywood legend Kris Kristofferson dies at age 88

<p>Music and movie legend Kris Kristofferson has died at the age of 88. </p> <p>The acclaimed country singer and actor who appeared in A Star is Born alongside Barbara Streisand passed away "peacefully” at his home in Hawaii on September 28th surrounded by family, according to <a href="https://people.com/kris-kristofferson-dead-at-88-7496435"><em>People</em>.</a> </p> <p>No cause of death has yet been announced. </p> <p>The statement from his family read, “It is with a heavy heart that we share the news our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28 at home. We’re all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know he’s smiling down at us all.”</p> <p>Throughout his career as a musician, Kristofferson won multiple Grammy's and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2004.</p> <p>He was also known for his acting accolades, including a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a musical for <em>A Star Is Born</em> and starring in the popular <em>Blade</em> franchise.</p> <p>Kristofferson’s death comes three and a half years after he announced his retirement, following what was to be his final concert in Florida in February 2020. </p> <p>Kristofferson was a father to eight children and is survived by his third wife, Lisa Meyers, who he married in 1983.</p> <p><em>Image credits: Joanne Davidson/Shutterstock Editorial </em></p>

"Absolutely heartbroken": Son of AFL legend tragically dies at age 24

Hollywood legend dies at age 93

<p>Passengers onboard a Carnival Cruise have demanded refunds after their travel itinerary changed once they had already boarded the ship. </p> <p>Guests aboard Carnival’s Vista had booked the eight-night Southern Caribbean cruise out of Port Florida on August 10th intending to stop in Aruba, Curacao and Turks and Cacaos, with the eight-day cruise averaging $11,700 per person.</p> <p>However, as boarding was taking place, the cruise line sent passengers a notification saying their had been a change of plans due to an engine problem.</p> <p>Carnival crew members had discovered a “technical issue affecting the ship’s cruising speed” which forced the cruise line to alter the itinerary, the cruise line told the New York Post, with Vista instead traveling to the Bahamas, making stops at Nassau, Princess Cays, Freeport, and Half Moon Cay. </p> <p>While a cruise worker was trying to explain the situation to passengers, some started chanting "Give us our money!" while staff tried to diffuse the situation.</p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; line-height: 17px; text-decoration: none;" href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_OYKHVvIIh/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A post shared by Only in Florida (@onlyinfloridaa)</a></p> </div> </blockquote> <p>“Ladies and gentlemen, the way you’re going about this with the noise and chaos isn’t going to solve any issues,” one cruise employee explained to the passengers, according to video obtained by Inside Edition.</p> <p>The passengers were given several choices once the cruise line determined the need for an itinerary change, as the cruise line said in a statement. </p> <p>“We communicated directly with guests on board regarding their options for the sailing,” Carnival said.</p> <p>“Those that sailed were given an on-board credit as well as a future cruise credit toward another cruise to make up for the unexpected change, and those who preferred not to sail were offered a 100 per cent refund.” </p> <p>Even with the choice of not cruising to the Bahamas, passengers were still frustrated with Carnival for the last-minute announcement.</p> <p>“They knew about the problem prior to us getting onto the ship,” Ashley Ball told the outlet. “They just didn’t say that until we were already on the ship, and, you know, went through customs and the lines and securities and all that, and then decided to display that information.”</p> <p><em>Image credits: Instagram</em></p>

Talk show legend dies after lengthy health battle

<p>US talk show host Phil Donahue has died aged 88 after a long illness. </p> <p>His family announced his death in a statement to People and <em>NBC News.</em> </p> <p>“Donahue died at his home surrounded by his family, including his wife of 44 years, Marlo Thomas, his sister, his children, grandchildren and his beloved golden retriever, Charlie,” they said.</p> <p>Donahue was dubbed  "the king of daytime talk" for being the first to include audiences as part of the talk show, paving the way for other talk show hosts like Oprah Winfrey and Ellen Degeneres. </p> <p>He was the host of <em>The Phil Donahue Show</em> for nearly three decades, from 1967 to 1996.</p> <p>The show tackled controversial issues and topics like equal rights for women in front of a live audience.</p> <p>In May, he and 18 other honourees received the Medal of Freedom from US President Joe Biden, the nation's highest civilian honour. </p> <p>Oprah Winfrey has led tributes to the talk show legend, with a post on social media. </p> <p>"There wouldn't have been an Oprah Show without Phil Donahue being the first to prove that daytime talk and women watching should be taken seriously," she shared, with a photo of a pair embracing during one of their meetings. </p> <p>"He was a pioneer. I'm glad I got to thank him for it. Hollywood legend dies at age 94

<p><em>The Notebook</em> star Gena Rowlands has passed await the age of 94 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. </p> <p>Her death was confirmed today by representatives for her son, filmmaker Nick Cassavetes, who told <em>TMZ</em> that Rowlands died on Wednesday afternoon at her home in Indian Wells, California, surrounded by family including her husband Robert and daughter Alexandra Cassavetes.</p> <p>While no official cause of death has been announced, Rowlands had been suffering from Alzheimer's for five years. </p> <p>In June, director of <em>The Notebook</em> and Rowland's son Nick Cassavetes was discussing the film's 20th anniversary when he shared <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/health/caring/hollywood-star-s-heartbreaking-health-update" target="_blank" rel="noopener">details</a> of his mother's diagnosis and how it was reminiscent of her character in the movie. </p> <p>“I got my mum to play older Allie, and we spent a lot of time talking about Alzheimer’s and wanting to be authentic with it, and now, for the last five years, she’s had Alzheimer’s,” Cassavetes told <a href="https://ew.com/the-notebook-star-gena-rowlands-has-alzheimers-8668642">E<em>ntertainment Weekly</em></a> of Rowlands’ character, who also had dementia.</p> <p>“She’s in full dementia.
