Seal pup found in the middle of a cattle farm. But how did it get there?

A South Australian farmer was left a little confused when he discovered a seal pup in one of his paddocks. Eric Neumann was investigating what was spooking his cattle when he discovered the cows gathered around the out-of-place animal.

The strangest part of this is that Mr. Neumann’s farm is near Bletchley, some 20km away from the sea. The closest river is the Bremer River, which is about one kilometre away.

Wildlife officers were called in to rescue the pup and are monitoring its health. They are also trying to determine how the seal found its way into Mr Neumann’s paddock – did it follow the waterway and get lost, or was it dumped by humans?
