Carrie Bickmore reveals her 8-second trick to a happy relationship
Carrie Bickmore and Chris Walker have been in a loving relationship for the past six years and now, the host of The Project has shared her secret to success when it comes to understanding each other as a couple.
The duo, who are expecting a second child together, said keeping the spark alive in their relationship is more important now than it has ever been before.
“Chris said to me the other day, ‘I was talking to this guy at work and he is reading a lot of relationship books. He was telling me this great tip I think we should try. It means you start the day connected’,” said Carrie.
The secret is simple but is apparently effective. Instead of giving your partner a peck on the lips before you head out in the morning, hold the kiss for eight seconds while staying still.
“The first day we did it, Evie [her daughter] looked at us like we had two heads,” she said.
“And then later when we were walking to school she said, ‘Are you and daddy friends?’”
According to Carrie, her daughter’s reaction was a sign that the trick works.
While they only recently introduced the technique into their relationship, they claim it’s been helping.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph’s Stellar Magazine, Carrie spoke about her miscarriages and how this pregnancy means so much to her and Chris.
“I was struggling to get my head around what had happened and was not in the mood to talk about it,” she explained.
The Gold Logie award winner is currently a mother-of-two – 11-year-old Oliver and three-year-old Evie.
Evie’s biological father is Chris, while Oliver’s biological father is Carrie’s late husband, Greg Lange, who passed away from brain cancer in 2010.
