Sunrise Brisbane correspondent Georgie Chumbley has welcomed her second child, with the happy news shared with viewers live on air.

Chumbley and her newborn baby boy, who arrived on Monday, are both doing well, with Sunrise hosts Nat Barr, Matt Shirvington and Monique Wright celebrating the newest addition to the Sunrise family on Friday morning.

The presenters shared the first photos of Chumbley and her newborn bub during the broadcast, with Barr saying: “We are so thrilled for you.”

“Good on you guys, well done,” Shirvington added.

The arrival marks the second child for Chumbley and her husband Chris, who welcomed their first son Hugo in January 2024, three years after they married.

Chumbley announced she was expecting another baby in May and stepped away from Sunrise in June to begin maternity leave.

“Signing off from Sunrise for a little while with baby boy number 2 on the way 🧡 !! Time for a few sleep-ins before our lil newborn arrives 💤 See you back on telly in the new year!” she wrote at the time.

The news comes shortly after another Sunrise family milestone, with weather presenter Sam Mac and his fiancée Rebecca James welcoming their first son.

The couple introduced baby Miles Samuel McMillan to viewers during a live cross from hospital on Friday, July 24.

Miles is the couple’s third child and first son, joining older sisters Margot and Mabel.
