John Travolta has marked what would have been his late wife Kelly Preston’s 64th birthday with an emotional video featuring their daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta.
The actor shared clips from their 26-year-old daughter’s debut at Paris Fashion Week with the caption: “Look at your baby girl now, Kelly!!”
“Happy birthday, you should be so proud!!”
The video featured footage of Ella Bleu getting ready and her walk on Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2027 runway on October 4/
He added Audrey Hepburn’s Moon River from the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s as the background music.
“She is the perfect blend of you two,” one fan said in the comments.
“This is so sweet, Kelly for sure is so proud and sees herself and you in Ella,” wrote another.
“I know that you are so proud of her and Kelly is right by her side through all of her achievements,” commented a third.
Ella Bleu also marked her mother’s birthday, sharing a throwback photo from her childhood.
“Happy birthday, mama. I love you,” she said.
Travolta and Preston were married for nearly 30 years until her death in 2020, following a two-year battle with breast cancer.
They shared three children, Ella Bleu, Benjamin, 15, and their eldest son Jett, who died aged 16 in 2009.
The actor previously opened up about his grief in a 2021 interview to Esquire Spain.
“The most important thing you can do to help another when they are in mourning is to allow them to experience it and not complicate it with your own,” he said.
He recalled how people would reach out to him but he was “so overwhelmed by everyone’s sadness that I didn’t know what to do with my own”.
“Even though it’s great to have company, sometimes it becomes like you’re helping them instead of working on overcoming your own feelings of loss and grief.”
