Sam Armytage has shared a heartbreaking tribute to her grandmother, Dorothy Flannery, following her death earlier this month at age 100.

“Last week ~ we laid our beautiful Nanny Flannery to rest. She was 100 & she was just pure magic ✨” the TV host revealed in a post shared on social media.

“A grandmother’s love is like no other,” she continued.

She then remembered her grandmother for being “universally adored” and recalled her love for colour, especially yellow.

“Fittingly, the autumn day she passed, the light shone through the glorious Ginkgo tree in my garden,” she shared alongside a yellow love heart emoji.

“She’s shining with my mama now (& Banjo 🐾) … how lucky am I to have three Guardian Angels.”

Armytage’s mum, Libby, passed away in 2020 after a long battle with an autoimmune disease.

“She deserves a good rest … but Lordy, we shall miss her,” she ended her tribute.

The TV host’s friends and followers shared their condolences, with fellow Channel 9 star Belinda Russel writing: “Such beautiful tributes for your Nanny Flannery. What a wonderful woman she must have been. Sending big hugs to you and your family.”

“Sorry for your loss of such a special lady in your life. How lucky you were. May she rest peacefully now,” wrote one fan.

“I lost my beautiful Mum a couple of months ago and she was 97. Your words have made something shift in me with my grieving,” another commented.

One fan resonated with her saying: “How very true … they do deserve a good rest but oh how we will miss them. Thank you 💝 Hugs to you.”
