It has been 32 years since Karl and Susan Kennedy moved onto Ramsay Street, and the actors who played the much-loved Neighbours couple have marked the anniversary together in Italy.

Alan Fletcher, who played Karl Kennedy, shared a selfie with Jackie Woodburne, who starred as his on-screen wife Susan, in Umbria, Italy.

“Today is the anniversary of the Kennedy family moving into Ramsay St,” Alan captioned the snap.

“Thirty-two years later, here we are in beautiful Umbria.”

The Kennedys moved to Ramsay Street in 1994 with their three children, Libby, Billy and Mal, and quickly became one of the show’s most recognisable families.

Over the years, Karl and Susan endured plenty of drama, including Karl’s affairs, but their relationship remained at the heart of the long-running Australian soap.

The anniversary post prompted an emotional response from fans, who said they still missed seeing the pair on their television screens.

“What a beautiful photo of TV royalty,” one fan wrote.

“Lovely to see you together and looking so well. Still miss you all so much. Happy anniversary,” another said.

“Great to see you together. If only Neighbours could come back,” a third fan wrote.

“So nice to see you together. Very much miss Neighbours on our screens,” another added.

Neighbours originally ended in 2022 after 37 years on Australian television and over 8,900 episodes, but was revived the following year after Amazon revived the series.

The soap lasted two more years before it was cancelled again, with production company Fremantle saying it had “failed to agree to a new deal” with Amazon to continue the series.
