Diane Keaton’s daughter, Dexter, has shared a tribute for her late mum on Mother’s Day – marking the first holiday since the actress’ death.

Keaton passed away on October 11 at the age of 79, following a bacterial pneumonia infection.

In a post shared to Instagram on Sunday, Dexter shared a series of throwback photos with her late mum, including one of the pair on the beach when she was a kid and another from her wedding day.

“First Mother’s Day without you,” Dexter captioned the post.

“I miss you more than words can say. Missing her voice, her hugs, her presence, and everything that made her home 🤍. I love you, Mom 🤍.”

While Keaton never got married, she adopted two kids, Dexter and Duke, in 1996 and 2001, respectively.

“I didn’t think that I was ever going to be prepared to be a mother,” she told Ladies’ Home Journal, at the time.

The actress was in her 50s when she adopted her kids.

“Motherhood was not an urge I couldn’t resist. It was more like a thought I’d been thinking for a very long time. So I plunged in.”

Keaton’s kids have mostly stayed out of the spotlight, but they made a rare public appearance in August 2022, during the actress’ Hand & Footprint Ceremony at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre.
