A woman learned her cat had been getting extra attention after receiving a farewell letter from neighbours she didn’t know.
Cats are known to wander around, but Amber Liddon’s cat is quite the social butterfly, forming a sweet friendship with one of her neighbours.
“When your cat, who is very well loved in the area, gets a goodbye letter from neighbours I’ve never spoken to,” she posted on TikTok alongside a clip of the letter.
The neighbours even printed and attached and adorable photo of Leo curled up in the basket, with the note: “To Leo, we are moving and will miss you, Leo! You are the best cat ever.”
They signed it off with their house number 22.
“Thanks, number 22, you’ve ruined my day at 8am… emotional damage,” Liddon said in the clip.
Liddon shared that she had tried to find the neighbours and get their contact details, but they had already moved by the time she found the letter.
Other cat lovers and pet owners took to the comments to praise the sweet gesture.
“Your cat said it’s okay, if you don’t socialise, they will do it for you,” one person wrote.
“How lovely! I hope they find a new feline friend in their new street,” another added.
The note went viral online, and Liddon told local media outlet Newsweek that she found the letter touching.
“The note made me feel sad but also full of love for the fact that they love him so much as he has impacted their lives these past three to four years,” she said.
She added that while she had never spoken to the neighbour, she had seen them take Leo inside and kept him warm in winter when he wasn’t ready to return home.
