NRL star Cameron Munster has surprised Sarah Abo with a special baby gift and some heartfelt advice after the Today show host announced her pregnancy.
Abo, 40, revealed on-air last week that she is expecting her first child with husband Cyrus Moran.
Munster, who is a father of three, appeared on Today to congratulate her and share some parenting advice.
“Sarah look, just enjoy the ride, it’s a rollercoaster,” Munster said.
“When you think you got everything right, something hits you right in the face.”
The baby’s football loyalty may already be decided, with Munster and co-host Danika Mason presenting Abo with a mini Melbourne Storm playing kit.
“You guys have very kindly gifted a new present to the family,” Mason said.
“Little Abo has a brand new outfit.”
Munster also joked about possible baby names.
“I know you are having a boy, and I think a beautiful name would be either ‘Cameron’ or maybe even ‘Munster’ as a first name,” he said.
“Having a first child is the best thing you ever can do.
“I know Sarah has had some great times being a producer and person on the panel.
“I’ve done some great things in my life with footy and I think the best thing I’ve ever done was have a child.
“Congratulations Sarah.”
Abo said last week that while she is excited about becoming a mother, the journey to pregnancy had not been easy.
“I know, it’s obviously very happy news and everything … It hasn’t been the easiest journey to get here,” she said.
“It’s not as easy as you sometimes think that pregnancy will be.”
