As Jackie ‘O’ Henderson enters the second week absence from her radio show with Kyle Sandilands, an industry source has claimed that she is unlikely to return.

Last week, the radio duo clashed on-air after Sandilands accused Henderson of not being focused at work due to her “fixation” with astrology, which led to her breaking down in tears.

Henderson has not been on the radio since, and on Monday, her co-host announced that she would be absent for another week.

Entertainment journalist Peter Ford claimed on 3AW on Monday morning that it was unlikely Henderson would return to The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

“Any future for Kyle and Jackie O as a radio duo – I’m told there’s a very, very long and very dark cloud hanging over the future,” Ford said.

“In fact, a couple of people have said to me if it was a horse race, I wouldn’t be backing them for a win.

“It’s a $200 million contract that could very likely be ripped up and binned. I’m told more than likely she won’t be coming back ever.”

He also claimed that a crisis conference was held on Friday between KIIS management and Henderson’s manager, which did not go as planned.

Ford added that other high-profile women in the industry have reached out and encouraged her to “take a stand” and not go back.

However, on Tuesday morning Sandilands revealed on-air that she will be back at some stage.

“ I did get some good news though yesterday,” Sandilands told newsreader Brooklyn Ross.

“Anything that’s got my name on it, I have to sign off on it, so I signed off yesterday on … some sort of statement coming from Jackie’s camp.

“The only thing I noticed (from the statement) is that Jackie will be returning in the future,” he added. “So that’s a good sign … so the intention is to come back which is fabulous.”

Details of Henderson’s return and whether the statement will be released to the media was not revealed, but the radio duo are contracted to KIIS FM until the end of 2034.

Following their disagreement Sandilands did express his regret for his comments, saying: “I obviously upset her. Maybe, in hindsight, I shouldn’t have said it on the air. But we say a lot of things on the air here.

“It was never meant to hurt her feelings and obviously it did. I regret hurting her feelings. No one wants to hurt someone. Especially someone you care for.

“I don’t really know. The show is just ploughing ahead anyway. I’m just leaving this up to management.”
