Kyle Sandilands has spoken out after Dr Chris Brown, Amy Gerard and Jack Charles were announced as the new breakfast team replacing his former KIIS FM program with Jackie O Henderson.

After months of speculation, KIIS FM parent company ARN announced that Brown, Gerard and Charles would take over the Sydney breakfast slot from November 9.

Sandilands reacted to the announcement on his own radio program, Kyle Sandilands Live, first taking aim at the new branding.

“That’s an ugly, woke colour. It’s the wokeist purple,” Kyle declared, referring to the purple background used in ARN’s announcement.

KIIS previously used neon pink and purple branding for the Kyle and Jackie O show, while the new branding features two shades of purple and white.

“You used to have the biggest radio brand. Now, you would arguably say you’re one of the worst,” Kyle continued.

“That, to me, equals boring as bats*** radio.”

Despite his criticism of the network’s direction, Sandilands wished the new hosts well.

“Good luck to them, I hope they do their very best, because it’s not an easy gig,” he said.

“I don’t know Chris well, but I’ve met him. He’s a bit vanilla, but you know, that’s alright.

“Amy, I think she’s a fun girl, I think she does a great job, and I don’t know the other chap, but I’m sure if he’s been on with Chrissy Swan for a while, he’ll know, he’ll know what’s what.”

The new breakfast team has received a more positive response from some listeners on social media.

“Such an epic lineup,” one wrote.

“This is THE announcement of 2026,” another added.

“The best and no one better for the job,” a third said.

KIIS has described Breakfast with Chris, Amy & Jack as a “new chapter” for the network, promising a combination of star power, chemistry and fresh energy.

“We have the biggest radio brand in the country, and we now have a team that is building something very special for listeners and creating big, new, integrated opportunities that brands will love,” ARN CEO Michael Stephenson said.

Brown said it was a “dream come true” to wake up with the city he loved.

“This show will be all about sharing our mornings, some laughs and maybe a few secrets together,” he said.

“I can’t wait. Plus, these hours are also a great way to beat the Bondi Road traffic, so it’s a win-win.”

Breakfast with Chris, Amy & Jack will begin on KIIS FM on November 9.
