Robert Irwin delivered another standout performance on Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday night, leaving viewers convinced he deserves a perfect score.
The 21-year-old and his professional partner Witney Carson performed an energetic Paso Doble to The White Stripes’ Icky Thump for the show’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night.
Despite audience expectations that Irwin would receive top marks, he earned 38 points – a score that tied for the night’s highest but fell short of perfection in the eyes of fans.
“Give this man his Mirrorball! So tired of the judges robbing him of a perfect score,” one person wrote on X.
“I feel rage baited with these scores! So good,” another fan commented, while someone else said, “Give this man all the 10s. This was so good.”
“Best dance of the night in a night of great dancing!” wrote one viewer.
Another added, “No way they can top that. Truly talented.”
“Okay Robert Irwin, that dance was INSANE. Winner incoming,” said another supporter.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight after the show, Irwin revealed the performance had a surprising hazard.
“I almost died tonight. I choked on a piece of confetti after the team dance. I inhaled it. I couldn’t breathe. I’m not even kidding,” he said.
The strong reaction follows Irwin’s Halloween Week performance, which saw him take on a darker role that earned the same 38 out of 40 score.
Dancing to a haunting rendition of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), he played a gothic conductor who brings his partner back to life. His face was coated in fake blood during the routine, adding to the dramatic theme.
One judge described the performance as “powerful and magnetic,” and fans echoed that praise online.
“Imagine turning the channel and seeing Australia’s sweetheart Robert Irwin covered in blood with no context,” one person wrote.
“Omg THE BLOOD WHAT,” another said, while a third commented, “Crikey that was good!”
