Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have separated, according to several media outlets, bringing to an end one of Hollywood’s most enduring love stories.

The Oscar-winning actress, 58, and the country music star, 57, had been married since June 2006 and share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. A source close to the family says the split has been deeply painful for Kidman, who “didn’t want this” and had been “fighting to save the marriage”.

“Nicole’s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another,” the source adds.

TMZ first reported that the couple had been living apart since the beginning of the summer. Despite the distance, Kidman publicly celebrated their anniversary on June 25 with a photo of herself nestled into Urban’s arms. “Happy Anniversary Baby ❤️ @KeithUrban,” she captioned the post, which now reads like a bittersweet reminder of better days.

Kidman, who recently wrapped filming Practical Magic 2 in London, has since shared photos of “summer memories” spent with her daughters and extended family, while Urban has continued on tour, with his next show scheduled for October 2 in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

The separation marks a heartbreaking turn for the pair, who were often celebrated for their devotion to one another in the public eye. In an interview just last year, Kidman reflected on her marriage, calling Urban her “deep, deep love”.

“I’m so lucky that I have Keith, who’s just my love,” she said at the time. “That gives me the ability to go and do whatever I have to do because I know where I can come back to.”

For years, Kidman and Urban stood as a rare example of a long-lasting Hollywood marriage, weathering the strains of fame, touring and work on opposite sides of the world. Now, after nearly two decades together, their split leaves fans and loved ones mourning the end of a partnership once thought unshakeable.
