Robert Irwin was only two years old when his father Steve Irwin died in September 2006 at the age of 44.

Now 21, Robert shared a heartwarming video this week after finding his dad’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which Steve received posthumously in 2018.

“Just touched down in LA for Dancing With the Stars. Look what I found,” Robert said in the video posted to Instagram.

“How cool is that? That’s so awesome. How good, that’s so cool,” he added, with Coldplay’s A Sky Full of Stars playing in the background of the clip.

The emotional moment touched many fans and even his sister Bindi Irwin commented: “I know Dad is SO proud of you.”

One fan wrote: “You’re looking down at your dads star but he’s looking down on you”

“That man loved you SO much. You honor him well,” another commented.

“So sweet you are so much like him,” a third wrote.

Another follower commented: “Such a well deserved Hollywood Star. Your father brought a lot of joy to the TV’s of many families around the world.”

Robert is currently in Los Angeles as he prepares to compete on the US version of Dancing With The Stars, following in Bindi’s footsteps after her own success on the show.

“I had these little dreams, going, ‘One day’ and now that dream is a reality and I am over the moon,” Robert said about joining the cast.
