With many of the royal family attending Prince Philip’s funeral this weekend, it might surprise you to learn that one familiar face won’t be attending.

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, won’t be one of the 30 people allowed into the chapel for the service.

It hasn’t seemed to hurt her feelings though, with  The Sun  reporting that she and Prince Andrew have been “by Her Majesty’s side this week”.

The snub comes after Prince Philip wanting “nothing to do” with Ferguson after she was photographed having her toes sucked by a lover in the South of France.

Prince Philip made no secret that he regarded Ferguson “simply beyond the pale” and found it “truly bizarre” that his son, Prince Andrew, continued to live with his ex-wife after they divorced.

In a piece for the  Daily Mail, Brandreth said he spoke to the Duke about Fergie, to which he simply said he “didn’t see the point” in ever seeing her again.

However, the Queen has always had a soft spot for the Duchess of York.

“The Queen has always had a soft spot for Sarah and regards her as an excellent mother,” a source told  The Sun.

“They have been going on short walks around the gardens with the Queen and her corgis. Sarah’s very much in the fold now that the Duke of Edinburgh has gone.”
