New photos have been released, as the investigation into the alleged murder of 17-year-old Thai girl Thanchanok Donhomla continues.

The images, shared by Pattaya Police, show the cramped room where 45-year-old Australian man Simon Carman was living in for the past year and where he allegedly murdered the teen, before placing her body in a suitcase and dumping it near railway tracks.

In the photos, piles of unfolded clothing were taking up one corner of the room, and a small bed placed near the doorway. Kitchen items and containers were also placed on a bench near the doorway.

There were piles of paper and bottles of water on a desk, and empty bottles of what appear to be alcohol on top of a fridge.

Other images show a woman in the room talking to Carman, with the ABC reporting that the woman was a friend of Thanchanok who was looking for her after she filed a missing person report with the police.

The friend was aware of Thanchanok’s whereabouts as the the teen had shared her location the night of the alleged murder, with Pattaya Police saying her final texts to her friends read: “I’ve arrived at [his] apartment. The room is so messy.”

Pattaya City Police Colonel Anek Srathongyoo said she messaged her friends to assure them “she had arrived so they didn’t have to worry”.

Police also claim that the 45-year-old man had gone about his day after the alleged murder.

“From around 3.30am until about 9pm, when he disposed of the body, he appeared to go about his daily routine as usual. We watched every single clip. He went downstairs to buy food, bought some groceries, did his laundry – everything seemed completely normal,” Srathongyoo alleged, in comments to the Sydney Morning Herald.

“Then we came to the part of the footage where he’s with the suitcase … but instead of leaving through the front entrance, he exited through the back door.”

Carman was arrested at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on Saturday just minutes before police found the suitcase containing the 17-year-old’s body.

Carman has denied murdering Thanchanok.

The update comes as the Aussie man is being investigated for possible links to previous unsolved cases, that had similar crime scenes.
