The stunning finalists of the  2023 Black and White Photo Awards  have been revealed, with the talented photographers stripping all the colour out of their work.

Having run for several years now, the annual contest was established to “nurture the spirit of monochrome photography”.

This year, thousands of images were submitted by record-breaking numbers of photographers from 92 countries around the world, with photos submitted under five categories: architecture, street, portrait, fauna and flora, and landscape.

“The results have exceeded all our expectations,” the judges said of the winners and finalists.

Some of the winning photos include an icy sculpture in  Antarctica, a full moon over the  Canadian rocky  mountains, a lightning storm in Italy, volcanic craters in Iceland, and a crowded train in Bangladesh.
