TV legends Bert and Patti Newton are grandparents again!
Lauren Newton welcomed a baby girl on Thursday making her a mother for the fifth time.
The daughter of Australian TV legends Bert and Patti Newton took to Instagram to share the happy news.
“Then there were five! Welcome to our beautiful Perla Dolly Newton Welsh. We are all thrilled, and she really is a doll,” she wrote alongside a photo of baby Perla with her four older siblings.
Lauren is a mother to sons Sam, 11, and Monty, 2, and daughters Eva, 9, and Lola, 6. Her five kids are all with her husband, former Olympic swimmer Matt Welsh, 42, who she has been married to for 13 years.
The 38-year-old shared the news of her pregnancy through Instagram back in July, saying: “Can’t believe this gorgeous four will become five at the end of the year!
“It will be busy but wonderful. I am lucky to have some great little helpers!” she wrote.
Throughout her pregnancy, Lauren provided regular updates on her journey through her social media channels.

“Counting down the days. I’ve been told it’s a big baby. It’s probably all the Milo I’ve been having!” she wrote on her Instagram account right before Christmas.
Speaking to the Herald Sun in 2016, 80-year-old Bert shared his joy of being a grandfather and how he and his wife Patti, 73, aim to see their grandchildren and daughter every day.
“They wouldn’t realise it at the moment, but they have made this one of the happiest times of my life,” he said when speaking about his grandchildren.
“There is that old saying, ‘The wonderful thing about being a grandfather, or grandparent, is that you give the kids back.’
“But in the case of Patti and myself, we don’t want to.”
Congratulations to the Newton-Welsh family!
