Nicole Kidman surprised Aussie fans with an unexpected appearance at a Sydney cinema on Friday night, as part of the preview screening of her new movie Practical Magic 2.
The 59-year-old actress stepped out in a satin white gown with a matching scarf as she welcomed the audience ahead of the film. She even handed out midnight margaritas for a special toast.
“Stand up everyone and raises your glasses,” she said to the packed theatre.
Kidman, who returns as Gillian Owens in the sequel, raised her glass and clinked glasses with fans.
“Sandy says hi,” she said, referring to her co-star and on-screen sister Sandra Bullock, who plays Sally Owens in the film.
“She’s in Texas doing the same thing that I’m doing, but I’m here in Sydney with you.
“All of you found the film and have supported it, and it was kind of like us answering the calling. So hopefully, you love it as much as we do.
“It’s really lovely 28 years later as women to be able to still be here. So thank you for decades and decades of support,” she told fans. “I love you.”
The actress received a standing ovation as she left the screening so that fans can enjoy the film.
Practical Magic 2 premieres in cinemas September 10.
