Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little have announced the end of their radio show, calling it quits live on-air after nearly a decade together.
The duo announced on Wednesday that they will depart their long-time show The Hit Network’s Carrie and Tommy at the end of the year.
Bickmore confirmed the news live on-air, telling fans: “After nearly 10 years of doing this amazing show, the Carrie and Tommy show is coming to an end.”
“I’ve loved every minute of doing the show.
“It’s not every day you get to come and have a laugh and call it your job with your best mate and the funniest guy in the country, and that’s what we’ve got to do for the last decade.”
Little agreed saying it was “sad” news, before claiming it was not how he “wanted [the show] to end”.
“I love this job, and I would have kept doing it for a long time,” he continued.
“But I don’t always get my way, and I feel very grateful. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity. I think we’ve had an amazing job to do.”
Bickmore and Little have anchored their afternoon show since 2017, broadcasting across the capital cities from 3pm to 6pm every weekday.
Their radio show is owned by Southern Cross Austereo and is broadcast on 2Day FM in Sydney and Fox in Melbourne.
The final show is set to air on December 11, with replacement hosts to be announced during SCA’s up-fronts on Thursday.
