Channel 7 has shared the preview for the season finale of Home and Away on Sunday night, teasing that it will feature “one of the most shocking disasters in the show’s 38-year history”.
“In Home and Away’s final week of the year, a number of the Bay’s residents board a party train en route to Off the Rails, a three-day musical festival in Broken Hill, where Remi (Adam Rowland) and Sonny (Ryan Bown) have secured a performance slot for their newest signing, Eddie Shepherd (Stephen Madsen),” Channel 7 shared in a statement.
“But as music and laughter echo through the train, the festival-goers are unaware they are on a catastrophic collision course with disaster.
“A deadly derailment will trigger chaos and carnage, with passengers plunged into an unthinkable nightmare.”
They also teased that “for some, it’s the end of the line,” and questioned who would survive the impact of the train crash.
The teaser was shared on the Home and Away social pages, and fans have shared their reactions with many left confused by the plot.
“Where did this train come from?” one viewer questioned.
“Summer bay doesn’t have a train line?”
“There’s never been a train in Summer Bay!” another added.
“Wow! In all these years of H&A…they have a train scene?” another confused viewer wrote.
Some were surprised that it’s not “an explosion or fire for the season finale” – two of the more common ways they ended the previous seasons.
Another person joked that the show was “spicing things up” with the train crash plot.
Home and Away’s finale week will air this month, although exact dates have yet to be revealed.
