Carrie Bickmore is set to go under surgery after she suffered a head injury over the Easter break.
The 45-year-old TV host shared the update to social media on Monday afternoon, alongside a series of photos, including one of her head wrapped in bandages, and an explanation of what had happened.
“Walked into the corner of the wall over the break,” she began in the caption.
“Looked like a crime scene. Blood spurting from my head,” she continued.
“Got it glued back together so I could go on holiday with my family the next day. Turns out I have hit a nerve.”
She said the cut was “healing terribly” and was still hurting adding: “Also randomly had a lady drop her carry on suitcase on my head. 🤣 God it hurt.
“Now gotta have it fixed properly by a plastic surgeon. Scars are hot yeh?”
Despite the injury, the TV personality joked that she had a “face for radio” and assured fans that she would be back on a new TV show later that evening.
Her post was flooded with comments from her celebrity friends wishing her a speedy recovery, with Rob Mills writing: “Rest up and heal well. That’s a lot.”
“Omg Carrie!!! You don’t do things in halves do you! 🫶🏼,” model Olivia Molly Rogers added.
“Hectic. Poor thing xx,” added former The Bachelor Australia star Anna Heinrich.
