Dolly Parton has cancelled her Las Vegas residency amid ongoing health issues.

The 80-year-old music legend shared a video update to fans on Monday, eight months after she initially postponed her residency.

“I have some good news and a little bad news,” Parton began in her video.

“The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments and I’m improving every day. The bad news is it’s gonna take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level”.

“Some of my meds and treatments make me a little bit swimmy in the head,” she explained.

She apologised for having to cancel her planned six-show Dolly: Live in Las Vegas, but assured fans that she is “doing really well”.

The singer shared a few details on her condition, saying that she has had issues with kidney stones, and how her “immune system and digestive system got all out of whack over the past three years,” but doctors are working hard to help her get better

“They assure me that everything I have is treatable, so I’m going with that, and I just want you to know I thank you for standing by me and that I will always love you.”

Later in her video she opened up about her husband, Carl Dean’s death, over a year since he passed away at the age of 82 on March 2025.

“A lot of you have been concerned about me and Carl, and you were so great about that,” she said.

She made the candid admission that “after going through a year of firsts, I mean the holidays, and especially our wedding anniversary, and the date of his death, March 3, that was hard for me.”

The singer explained she will “always love and miss” her late husband, and thanked everyone for their “love and concern”, as it helped her get through the tragedy.

“You have been a big part of my healing,” she said.

She the recalled one of her interactions with her late husband and shared the positive memory to fans.

“I was griping about something hurting and Carl said, ‘now honey, you got to remember you’re not getting any younger.’ I said, ‘well honey, you’ve got to remember that as long as there are plastic surgeons in this world, I’m not getting any older’,” she quipped.

“I have great doctors and I’m doing really well,” she said.

In her caption, Parton wrote: “Thank you for standing by me and showing me so much love and support over the past year.

“I’ve still got some healing to do, but I am on my way! See you soon,” she added.
