Jan Logan has passed away aged 86.
The celebrity jewellery designer and mother-of-three passed away on Saturday, with news of her death confirmed on social media.
A tribute was shared alongside a black-and-white portrait of the jeweller, who created pieces for A-list celebrities including Rose Byrne, Taylor Swift and Tina Arena.
“With great sadness, we announce that our founder, Jan Logan, passed away peacefully in Sydney earlier today, surrounded by family,” the statement from the official JL instagram account read.
“Born in Narrabri, Jan raised her family on a farm before moving to Sydney. Jan’s country upbringing fed her imagination and nurtured her pragmatic and indomitable spirit.
“Launching the business in 1989 at the age of 50, Jan went on to build a loyal following of her signature designs that blended classic elements with a contemporary edge.
“Jan’s influence on Australian creative industries was considerable. While we mourn the loss of a visionary and beloved matriarch, we celebrate the enduring beauty she left behind – a legacy that will continue for years to come.”
Tributes have poured in from fans, as well as the celebrities that she has worked with, including singer Tina Arena, who described Logan as “one of the great legends of exquisite jewellery making.”
“A true artisan. Will be missed by many,” she said.
Radio host Amanda Keller also shared her condolences saying: “I’m so sorry to hear this … What an elegant, creative and legendary woman.”
Nine News presenter Georgie Gardner also paid tribute, describing the jeweller as “generous, creative, elegant and smart.”
“[She was] sophisticated and incredibly stylish, yet down to earth and practical.
“A genuine supporter of women and a dear friend. I will miss our chats, her warmth and words of wisdom.”
Logan opened her first boutique in 1989 at the age of 50, and is respected across the entertainment industry, particularly in film, television, and fashion circles.
