Missing Perth mum Michelle Joan Leahy has been found dead, just hours after police made an appeal to the public for information.

WA Police confirmed the devastating news on Thursday evening, and said her death “is being treated as non-suspicious”. They have not yet provided any information on when or where she was found.

The mum-of-three was last seen on Bruce St near Stirling Hwy in Nedlands around 3.15pm on October 16, after leaving for a medical appointment.

Leahy was last spotted wearing a white top, blue patterned pants and a black cap, with police releasing CCTV footage of her on Thursday morning, as the search entered its seventh day.

Police Superintendent Manus Walsh appealed to the public for help earlier on Thursday, saying there was nothing to suggest “there’s a criminal element” to her disappearance, but authorities were throwing “significant” towards the search.

“Ultimately we have three children who are at home and they don’t know what’s happened to their mum – so we want to help resolve that for them,” he said.

Her family had also offered a $100,000 for information that could help locate her.
