Police are investigating the death of Lachlan Rolfe, a former reality TV star known for Married at First Sight and Farmer Wants a Wife.

Rolfe, 47, who also went by Lachlan McAleer, was found dead at his Camden home on Sydney’s outskirts on September 9.

The cattle farmer first appeared on the inaugural season of MAFS, where he was paired with Clare Tamas. The couple split a year after filming wrapped.

The following year, Rolfe appeared on Farmer Wants a Wife but was also unable to maintain a long-term relationship with girlfriend Belinda Reid. By the time the series finale aired, the couple had broken up, with Lachlan blaming distance.

“We were trying back and forth and spoke on the phone all the time, but the distance makes it really hard,” he told TV Week.

NSW Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

According to authorities, emergency services were called to a home on Old Razorback Road, Razorback, where officers found a man “unresponsive.”

“Ambulance paramedics commenced CPR but they were unable to revive him,” they said.

“Investigations are continuing into the circumstances.”

Reacting to the news on social media, former MAFS contestant Ryan Donnelly wrote, “Wow that’s tragic. I was born in Camden, very sad to lose a local so young RIP.”

Following two short-lived TV romances, Rolfe faced legal troubles in 2017 when his then-girlfriend accused him of assault. He was initially found guilty but successfully appealed the conviction.

“Being a man of principle, I chose to clear my name,” he said at the time.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Camden Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
