And we loved with a love that was more than love – Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe

Love is truly beautiful but comes with its own bumpy rides which might come at you unexpectedly.

But because the love is so strong, you can push through it…while others unfortunately can’t.

This is why we’ve asked you to share your best marriage or relationship advice for those struggling.

Check out some of your responses below.

Leah Leabres Lewis – Communication. Stick to the topic and don’t take everything personally! Have common goals and aspirations. Almost 47 years in a reasonably happy and stable relationship with 4 children who are highly educated, gainfully employed with strong moral compass and social conscience, married to like minded souls and 9 grandchildren!

Pam Garmony – Never go to bed having an argument. Sort it out beforehand. We have been married for 51 years and are still very happy.

Steve Knowles – Marriage is a partnership, you have to work at it together as a team.

Les Hartland – You must have common interests and do things together. Also you must have separate interests and hobbies and do things without expecting your spouse to do it too. (And NO I don’t mean sexually) There is no room in a successful marriage for jealousy!

Debbie Florance – The time before your marriage is the ” honeymoon” period. Both are on their best behaviour. If you are not 100% happy DON’T DO IT. No one changes their behaviour for the best after marriage.

Paul Geange – Never let the sun go down on an argument not sorted out.

Jean Dent – Be kind and thankful. Please and thank you always. Put God first in your marriage.

Susan Pitcher – Don’t marry in the first place.

Heather Bourne – Be your own person, some day you may need it.

Kathie Brosnan – Be nice to one another every day!!
