According to a report by 7NEWS, Australian man Alex Ross had his car apparently damaged by a StarTrack delivery vehicle – a courier and delivery service company owned by Australia Post.

Ross was able to capture footage of the incident on the camera in his front door, and then shared the footage of the apparent hit-and-run to a Facebook group.

The footage shared by Ross to the group shows the moment that the StarTrack van backs into his car parked on the street in front of his home, before taking off and speeding away.

Ross went on to share that he had spent the last ten days attempting to resolve the incident by getting some kind of satisfaction or acknowledgement from the company.

“Not a damaged or lost parcel per se,” shared Ross, “but a damaged car and a wasted 10 days of sitting on the phone trying to get Australia post to acknowledge and take responsibility (and maybe even apologise) for the action of their driver.”

Ross’ comments drew a furious response from other members of the Facebook group, with most suggesting that Ross report the incident to police.

“Take that footage to the police,” one person wrote.  “What an a******* for not stopping!” said another.

After 7NEWS contacted StarTrack, a spokesperson responded to the incident:

“We sincerely apologise for this incident. These actions are not in line with the high service standards we expect of our people when delivering to the community.

“This service is performed by a delivery contractor, and they have confirmed their driver no longer performs deliveries on behalf of Australia Post.

“We have contacted the vehicle owner to apologise directly and our delivery contractor is working with them to resolve the matter.”
