Former West Coast Eagles player Laurie Bellotti has been jailed after police allegedly discovered child pornography on his phone.
Bellotti, 50, was remanded in Hakea Prison in Canning Vale, south of Perth, last week after the alleged discovery. During an appearance in Perth Magistrates Court by video link from prison last week, he pleaded guilty to the burglary charge and to breaching a restraining order. He did not enter a plea to the child pornography charge.
Police arrested the former footballer in July over a burglary in Innaloo. He was charged with intent to commit an offence and breaching a restraining order. When Bellotti was taken into custody, officers seized his phone and allegedly found four images depicting child nudity.
In separate proceedings in Mandurah Magistrates Court, Bellotti pleaded guilty to eight charges of breaching a family violence restraining order. He also pleaded not guilty to aggravated stalking and using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.
Bellotti played 24 games for the Eagles from 1999 to 2000 before being dropped from the team in late 2000. He later moved to West Perth in 2001 and then joined the Karratha Falcons in the North Pilbara Football League.
