Nova radio host Clint Stanaway is set to become a dad, sharing the moment he found out the news.
The former Channel Nine star is expecting a baby with The Block star Eliza Paschke, who he considers a “really good friend of mine”, with the duo revealing they have planned to co-parent for “a number of years”.
Paschke recently shared a video of the moment she told Stanaway their plans to become parents were becoming a reality.
“The minute I found out I was pregnant, I facetimed Clint relentlessly to wake him from a nap,” she said.
“A long time in the making, so lots of disbelief and cautious excitement.”
The short clip has no sound, but Stanaway can be seen in happy disbelief as he raised his hands to cover his smile.
The 43-year-old first revealed the news during an announcement on his Melbourne radio show last month, explaining the pair would be taking a co-parenting approach.
“We’re going to be using a co-parenting method to have this child,” he said.
“We’re going to have a different-looking family, but a family that is not going to have any shortage of love in it.”
Paschke, 40, said becoming a mother was “something I’ve always thought about and openly discussed” and that she felt “immensely grateful to be in this position”.
She later explained that she had kept many of the details of her plans private, in case things didn’t work out.
Stanaway has since opened up about the pregnancy, revealing he nearly passed out during the first ultrasound because he was so overwhelmed.
“Hearing the heartbeat and seeing your baby there, it was just like, ‘Wow…this is special’,” Clint said.
“It took my breath away. And I can’t wait for you to meet my little boy or girl.”
Paschke also shared the moment she told her family she was pregnant, beginning with her sister Liberty, who appeared alongside her on The Block.
“I guess I’d better start watching what I eat, given I’m pregnant,” she said to her sister.
Liberty took a moment to process the news before reacting, saying: “Are you joking? What? Oh my god.”
Paschke then reassured her sister she was serious and showed her the positive pregnancy test.
She later shared the news with her younger sister, Scarlett, and her parents in separate moments.
Stanaway left Channel Nine last September after 25 years and later joined Nova radio.
