Michael Slater’s alleged text messages revealed

A former partner of cricketer Michael Slater has revealed the disturbing text messages she claims he sent her.

The mother-of-three and the cricketer broke off their relationship which saw Slater allegedly threaten to release intimate videos and photos he had of her.

The woman described Slater as a “narcissist” and tried to get him to sign a legal document to ensure he didn’t release the private photos.

In the series of text messages shown to The Herald Sun, Slater allegedly called the woman “heartless” when she refused to get back with him and he threatened that she would “feel his pain”.

“I am going to do my best to make you feel my pain,” he allegedly sent in one of the messages.

“I’m now completely over you and going to bring you down. No one deserves the treatment I’ve received,” another message allegedly read.

“You’ve (sic) f***ed and a piece of dog s**t,” he allegedly sent in a third.

The woman told the publication that Slater allegedly threatened to self harm and had also thrown her on the ground during an argument.

The 52-year-old cricketer is currently in a mental health facility in Sydney and is not allowed to contact those who made a complaint against him due to apprehended violence orders.

Earlier this year on July 14, the cricketer was charged for breaching his bail after police attended his home following concerns for his welfare.

He was granted strict conditional bail, and must stay away from alcohol and drugs, and be on good behaviour.

Image: Getty

Ita Buttrose: “I’m really sad to see James Packer struggling”

Ita Buttrose’s professional relationship with her former boss Kerry Packer began in 1972 when she launched Cleo magazine with the media mogul.

She formed a close friendship with Kerry, with his eldest son, James, who was just five years old at the time, regularly playing with Ita’s two children, Kate and Ben – along with James’ younger sister Gretel.

Since James’ recent resignation from Crown Resorts for mental health reasons in March, Ita has been understandably deeply concerned.

Following his public announcement, the 50-year-old and father of three checked into a psychiatric hospital in the US to seek treatment.

Speaking exclusively to The Australian Women’s Weekly, Ita shared, “I just feel very sad for him.”

“James is round about the same age as my kids and he learned to swim with my kids and Rob Henkie’s kids, who was Kerry’s cousin.

“They all learned to swim together, so I’ve known James since he was a very little boy and I’m really sad to see that he’s struggling at the moment,” the concerned 76-year-old said.

Referring to his time in rehab at a Boston clinic, Ita added, “Ros, his mother, was there and I’m sure Gretel, his sister, is somewhere.”

Ita also noted, “He seems on very good terms with his former wives [Erica Baxter and Jodhi Meares] and his kids.”

Although the magazine and media queen had a very close working relationship with Kerry – and a solid friendship – Ita admits she didn’t know James professionally as they never got the opportunity to work together.

“I know [James], but I don’t really know him well because I’d left the company by the time he was in charge,” Ita explained to AWW.

“I would see him sometimes at a lunch or I’d run into him somewhere and we’d say ‘g’day’ and have a chat. But as I say, I’ve known him since he was little, and I can see he’s unhappy and it’s sad.”

As platonic friends they are good parents and his children get to see James at his best.”

Packer has reportedly checked into one of the most exclusive psychiatric facilities in the US, McLean Hospital in Belmont, California. Ben Affleck reveals heartbreaking truth about himself to shed light on issue

Ben Affleck has opened up about his secret struggle with alcohol addiction in a candid Facebook post, urging others to seek help if they need it. The Oscar winner reportedly checked himself in to rehab straight after the Oscars, two weeks ago.

“I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction, something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront,” he wrote. “I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step.”

Affleck also thanked ex-wife Jennifer Garner for her support, amid rumours the couple had chosen to call off their divorce, announced in 2015.

“I'm lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I've done the work I set out to do,” the heartfelt post reads. “This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery.”

The actor has battled alcohol abuse for more than 15 years. It’s believed he first entered rehab back in 2001 for one month. “I went to rehab for being 29 and partying too much and not having a lot of boundaries and to clear my head and try to get some idea of who I wanted to be,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “It was more a ‘let me get myself straight,’ before it became a rite of passage.”
