The family of a missing NSW grandmother has issued a fresh plea for information as they face a heartbreaking milestone with no answers about her disappearance.
Rita-Marie Collin, 60, vanished from Kariong on the NSW Central Coast on May 5 after she was last seen walking along Woy Woy Road near Geoffrey Joseph Close at about 10.45am.
Despite extensive searches involving police, specialist crews, the Dog Unit and volunteers, she has not been found. Investigators continue to hold serious concerns for her welfare and say the case remains active.
Speaking during National Missing Persons Week, Rita-Marie’s family urged anyone who may know something – no matter how insignificant it seems – to come forward.
Her daughter said the family was living through “beyond belief” uncertainty as the disappearance officially became a long-term missing person case.
Police believe Rita-Marie was wearing blue jeans, a denim-style jacket over a black T-shirt and carrying a white bag when she disappeared. They have previously appealed for dashcam footage from motorists travelling on Woy Woy Road between 10.30am and 11am on the day she vanished.
Detectives say they remain committed to finding answers and are urging anyone who may have seen Rita-Marie, or who has information about her movements on May 5, to contact Crime Stoppers.
As National Missing Persons Week shines a spotlight on families still waiting for answers, Rita-Marie’s loved ones say they simply want to know what happened and hope someone, somewhere, can provide the clue that finally brings her home.
